‘Uncharted 4’ Single Player DLC To Be Revealed At PSX In December?
Sony has just confirmed that this year’s PlayStation Experience (PSX) will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center on December 3 and 4. The attendees will get an opportunity to try out the new PlayStation 4 pro on a 4K display, they’ll get a chance to see trailers for some of Sony’s upcoming games, and they may even get a look at Uncharted 4’s single player expansion, which is scheduled to be part of Naughty Dog’s winter DLC package.
Since it was released back in May, Naughty Dog has provided three DLC updates with the most recent one being a week ago. Lat week, they revealed the Bounty Hunters DLC package, which included a classic map from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, a new game mode — Bounty Hunter — which is similar to the Kill Confirmed mode from the Call of Duty franchise, new vanity items, new mysticals, and new weapons.

Naughty Dog does tend to reveal the details of their upcoming releases towards the end of the year as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and The Last of Us were all revealed in the November and December months. So, if the Uncharted 4 DLC follows suit, it’ll likely be revealed during the PlayStation Experience event.
During a recent Naughty Dog live stream, the Sony-owned studio said that they were still working on the single player expansion for Uncharted 4 and that they’d provide us with more details when they became available. Most are expecting that those details will become available soon because the single player DLC is supposed to be released as part of their winter DLC package, per the studios’ quarterly DLC schedule that was released over the summer.
Naughty Dog beautifully ended the story of Uncharted’s longtime protagonist — Nathan Drake — in Uncharted 4, so most are expecting that we’ll be taking control of a new protagonist in the single-player expansion unless the expansion is a flashback to Nate’s past.
We got to take control of someone else for the first time in the Uncharted series in chapter 5 of A Thief’s End, where we played through Sam Drake’s — Nate’s brother — prison breakout scene. Of course, we learned later that Sam’s story about how he got out of prison wasn’t true.
Some are thinking that we’ll end up taking control of Sam again in the single player DLC and that we’ll be playing through his first big adventure with Victor Sullivan. The two teased working together in the future during one of Uncharted 4’s final scenes, and during the game’s epilogue, we found out that they ended up working together quite a bit. So the single-player DLC could be centered around the beginning of Sam and Sully’s working relationship, and if it’s well-received, Naughty Dog could continue the series with Sam as its main protagonist.

Troy Baker, who was the voice of Sam Drake, told Twinfinite that he would like to see what’s next for Sam and Sully in the Uncharted 4 single-player expansion.
“After playing the game, I find myself really torn because a part of me wants to see what Sam and Sully are going to do.”
Baker also told Twinfinite that he wouldn’t mind seeing Naughty Dog dive deeper into Nate and Sam’s backstory, and show a couple of their adventures together from when they were teenagers. We did briefly see Nate and Sam together as kids in Uncharted 4, and the young Sam and Nate scenes were pretty well-received. So, there’s at least a chance that we could end up returning to Nate and Sam’s teenage years in the single-player expansion, which, as previously mentioned, is scheduled to be released as part of the game’s winter DLC package.
