Harry Styles Isn’t Sure If One Direction Will Reunite Soon – ‘It’s Good For Us To Explore Different Things’
While One Direction members have done their part in reassuring fans that they wouldn’t leave the band for good, they likewise haven’t given clues as to when. Harry Styles’ recent statements might break the hearts of Directioners across the globe because he admitted that he doesn’t know if they’d get back together soon.
Speaking to AnOther magazine’s Chelsea Handler and Sir Paul McCartney, the 22-year-old simply responded “I don’t know” when asked if he has an idea about One Direction’s possible reunion date.
“I would never say we’ll never do anything ever again but it’s good for us to be exploring different things. Maybe at some point everyone will want to do something again but it’ll be better if it happens naturally like, ‘Hey, we all really want to do this again’. If that were to happen it would be amazing.”
The British crooner added that he would never turn his back from the “greatest thing that ever happened” to him.
“I would never rule that out. It’s the most important, greatest thing that ever happened to me, being in that band. It completely changed my life.”
In 2014, Styles likened One Direction to the Beatles because of the “madness.” However, he added that they’d be “total fools” if they considered themselves in the same league as the Fab Four regarding music. “Fame-wise it’s probably even bigger, but we don’t stand anywhere near them regarding music,” he explained.
What Are The Boys Currently Up To?
Niall Horan is making the most out of the hiatus by taking vacations and honing his skills in golf. Several websites including the Daily Star reported that the Irish musician just landed a solo deal with Universal, but nothing’s confirmed yet.
Liam Payne has always been vocal about his penchant for writing songs. It isn’t a surprise that he’s been busy collaborating with other artists like Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa. In July, he inked a solo deal with Capitol.
Harry Styles wrote tracks and registered them to publisher ASCAP. The songs remain unreleased. He will soon be seen in Christopher Nolan’s war drama Dunkirk. It is also believed that he will play the role of a young Mick Jagger in a Rolling Stones biopic that will be allegedly titled Exile on Main Street: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones. Styles has likewise signed a solo deal with Columbia Records.
Louis Tomlinson continues to enjoy being a father to eight-month-old Freddie Reign. He is frequently photographed vacationing with girlfriend Danielle Campbell. He also sat as a guest judge for America’s Got Talent.
Zayn Malik might no longer be a part of the band after expressing his need to become a “normal 22-year-old.” He then went on to launch his solo album Mind of Mine. In his most recent interview with High Snobiety, he talked about some of his former band’s “ridiculous” brand policies which left him feeling restricted.
“We were literally meant to ask permission before we changed our hair or like, grew a beard. It was ridiculous.”
Styles’ uncertainty about One Direction’s reunion reminds fans of what happened to the illustrious English-Irish band, Girls Aloud. The band was formed through ITV’s talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.
Seven years later, Girls Aloud announced their plan to take a year-long break to pursue individual projects. They promised they’d reunite for a new album in 2010, but it didn’t come to fruition.
In 2012, Girls Aloud got back together for their 10th anniversary. The fans’ happiness was short-lived because, in 2013, members Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, and Sarah Harding announced their split via Twitlonger.
