Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Dating Again? Exes Had Dinner Without Their Kids
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have kept people guessing if they are dating again or not. The two have been spotted spending time together with their three children – Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7 and Samuel, 4 – just like any ordinary husband and wife.
They claim that they are only together for the sake of their kids, but the exes were recently spotted having a dinner date on their own. According to Us Weekly, Affleck and Garner arrived at Sam’s by the Beach in Los Angeles around 8 p.m. and left before 10 p.m.
“Jen came out and walked to the car. Ben was behind her [and] he looked like he might have had a few drinks,” an insider said. “Jen seemed content, she didn’t look upset and didn’t say anything.”
The Daredevil co-stars reportedly looked relaxed during their dinner date, which is a good sign. They may be discussing their relationship since neither one of them has formally filed for a divorce yet; it’s already been more than a year since they announced their breakup. Back in July, a source close to Garner revealed that the two may have had a change of heart.
“Jen mentioned that the divorce was going through very soon, and then a few weeks ago, things changed,” an insider said. “It does not seem to be moving in that direction.”
“Jen seems to still be in love with Ben but doesn’t allow her mind to go there,” the source added. “She just focuses on the kids.”
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck still live together in their five-bedroom mansion, but they sleep in separate rooms. During an interview with Vanity Fair back in March, the former Alias star revealed that she sleeps with their daughter Violet while the Justice League actor stays in their guest room. Some people are making assumptions that the celebrity couple are in a relationship just to get attention from the media, but she claimed that their marriage was real.
“It wasn’t for the cameras,” she said. “And it was a huge priority for me to stay in it. And that did not work.”
The 44-year-old actress also clarified that they have already split up before she found out about her estranged husband’s affair with their former nanny, Christine Ouzounian. But what made things difficult for her was how she would explain the meaning of scandal to their children. Despite the breakup, Garner didn’t regret marrying Affleck.
“He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous,” she said. “He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
Since there is still love left in Jennifer’s heart, then that could be the reason why she is putting their divorce on hold. According to Hollywood Life, the brunette beauty isn’t impulsive and isn’t willing to sign off the papers.
“She needs to make sure Ben is committed to being a husband and father, so she’s giving him more and more responsibility. So far, he’s stepped up to the plate,” an insider said.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck may be dating again, but that does not mean they are getting back together. During an interview with Today, the Miracles from Heaven star revealed the status of their marriage since some people find it strange that they still live under the same roof despite the announcement of their divorce.
“We are definitely a modern family, we’re doing really well,” she explained. “He and I are great friends.”
