The Flashpoint storyline was arguably one of the best stories told by DC Comics. The comic version was so successful that an animated movie was created based on the comic storyline and is available to stream on Netflix.
Fans of The Flash erupted online when they realized that the CW was going to tackle the Flashpoint story arc. Fans also realized that the TV version will be very different than the comic and animated version. In the animated movie, Wonder Woman and Aquaman are at war with each other and are in the process of destroying the world. Superman has been held hostage by the government since the time of his spaceship crashing. Batman is not Bruce Wayne but Thomas Wayne. Bruce was the one who died in the alley when his parents were mugged. Having her child die in her arms, Martha Wayne loses her mind and becomes the Joker.
Due to Warner Brothers being very picky on how their main DC characters are used, none of the characters from the comic version of Flashpoint will be seen on CW’s version. Aside from the characters not being used, Barry also has his powers in CW’s version Flashpoint. In the other versions, Barry does not have his powers and has to attempt to replicate the accident that initially made him into The Flash.

From the other trailers for Season 3 of The Flash , we get a glimpse of just how different the timeline is that Barry created. Of course, the main difference is Barry’s mother is alive and his father is not in jail for her murder. For the fans that have been pulling for Barry and Iris to finally get together, their hearts are crushed since Iris does not know who Barry is. We also discover that Joe has no fatherly affection toward Barry like he does in the normal timeline. Wally West has fully immersed his powers and is Kid Flash. The other bombshell that is in the season three trailers is that Cisco is the richest man in the United States.
