Dylan O’Brien Has Recently Recovered From His Accident And Will Be ‘American Assassin’
Teen Wolf’s Dylan O’Brien has the title role in American Assassin. The action thriller is completely centered around O’Brien’s character Mitch Rapp, a CIA black ops recruit with some deadly skills.
American Assassin is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Nick Wechsler and directed by Michael Cuesta. The action-packed flick is based on a 2010 Vince Flynn novel.
In American Assassin, Dylan O’Brien will have the opportunity to showcase his acting skills. Mitch Rapp is a complex killer of a character. Rapp is completely devastated by the loss of his fiancée during a terrorist attack. Mitch is left with powerful feelings of both sorrow and rage, at once grieving and out for blood.

Dylan O’Brien’s American Assassin role will be a much more mature role than Dylan’s usual parts. As O’Brien shows off his acting chops, he will likely be spared from doing his own stunts. It is doubtful Mr. O’Brien is up for that sort of thing yet.
If American Assassin does well at the box office, it is quite likely to have many sequels based on an entire series of novels, so Dylan will have more opportunities to bring this character to life. The first film will cover only the prequel to the book series. There are 14 more novels in the series, according to Variety. If the movie does well, O’Brien will have a long run of sequels to make.

Dylan O’Brien is currently on the American Assassin set where filming has recently begun. The film also stars Michael Keaton and Taylor Kitsch. It is a very respectable cast, but Dylan is the star with the title role. The movie is anticipated to be a huge box office sensation, largely because of Dylan’s popularity.
American Assassin will likely be a very demanding role for Dylan’s acting skills, but it is said to be less demanding physically. Lorenzo di Bonaventura told Hollywood Reporter that Dylan nearly died as a result of a stunt gone wrong on the Maze Runner set.
“He’s all better. It was more than disconcerting. I never saw him in his worst form, but it was described to me. It was really scary. He came close to dying, I’m pretty sure. It was enough to shake your core.”

Dylan O’Brien is feeling much better now, and he has a producer and director who understand what he has been through on the Maze Runner set. Though the movie is an action thriller, this production should be kept significantly safer and Dylan well protected from harm.
Maze Runner: Death Cure is alleged to be ready for theaters in 2018, but that is yet to be seen. Dylan was very seriously injured in March while making Maze Runner and was unable to work for about six months. Teen Wolf writers were creative enough to write a very spooky plotline to explain Dylan’s absence, and they were prepared to run out that plot as long as necessary, but thankfully Dylan has recovered. He will return to Teen Wolf after the new year.
American Assassin will be Dylan O’Brien’s first role since the accident on Maze Runner: Death Cure.
