‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Star Dakota Johnson Says Filming Sex Scenes With Jamie Dornan Are ‘The Worst Thing Ever’
Fans have high expectations for Fifty Shades Darker.
While many thought Fifty Shades of Grey lacked a certain level of raunchiness, the sequel is expected to ramp things up in the sex department. What’s in store when Fifty Shades Darker hits theaters in February?
According to Chatt Sports Net, Fifty Shades Darker star Dakota Johnson admitted that filming all the sex scenes with Jamie Dornan was “taxing.”
“There’s a scene in which Christian uses a flogger on Anastasia. Filming a sex scene is not a sensual or pleasurable environment,” Johnson stated. “It’s really hot – not in a steamy, sexual way. It’s just sweaty and it’s not very comfortable.”
“And on top of that, my hands and legs were tied, and I was blindfolded, and I was being hit with this bizarre tool. It was emotionally taxing. At first I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is the worst thing ever,’ and then I was like, ‘All right, let’s get on with it.'”
With production now complete for both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, at least Johnson’s BDSM days are behind her.
As far as Dornan is concerned, he too seems happy that his role in the erotic drama is over.
Dornan was plagued with rumors throughout his time as Christian Grey, including reports of a secret romance with Johnson. Of course, Dornan is a happily married man with a growing family.
In fact, Goss is reporting that Dornan’s wife, Amelia Warner, didn’t watch Fifty Shades of Grey and doesn’t plan on seeing the sequel.
“My wife is one of the most brilliant human beings in the world,” Dornan shared during an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show. “She hasn’t watched it. Why would she watch it? She wouldn’t put herself through that.”
Despite his wife’s reservations about Fifty Shades Darker, Dornan actually doesn’t mind performing nude in front of the camera.
Perhaps the biggest question going into the hit sequel is whether or not Dornan will appear fully nude in the film. Apparently, even Dornan doesn’t remember if the movie will show him full frontal.
“I haven’t seen it so I don’t know. I don’t know where the cameras were, I don’t bother myself with that, I just get on with it. At times you are [fully naked],” he revealed. “I don’t really care about that sort of stuff. I’m not a nudist beach guy, but I don’t really mind.”
According to Melty, Dornan is finished with the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise for good.
This is partly because it isn’t clear if producers will adapt any more of E.L. James’ books and partly because Dornan is tired of playing Christian.
“I hate my face without a beard, I swear to God I really hate it… I always think I look really young… I think when I’m clean shaven, I look like a thumb,” he explained. “My own ‘Jamie Resting Face’ is what I have an issue with.”
With Dornan now a household name, the actor should have little trouble expanding his career in Hollywood.
Until then, fans can watch Dornan in the BBC drama The Fall, in which the actor plays the part of serial killer Paul Spector.

“We’re billing this as the final series, but there may be a world where it comes back in some incarnation with whoever else at a certain time, but for now this is it, which is very sad,” Dornan shared.
Darker is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 9, 2017. Fifty Shades Freed, the final film in the hit franchise, is expected to open a year later.
