Bates Motel Season 5 is shaping up to be the best yet. The final season of the A&E series is sure to have more shocking moments than ever before, and new spoilers are slowly being revealed. The latest news reveals that there will be a new sheriff in town.
According to TV Line , Grey’s Anatomy alum Brooke Smith, who played Dr. Erica Hahn on the medical drama, is heading to Bates Motel for the final season. Smith will reportedly be playing Dana Green, who is the new sheriff in White Pine Bay. Dana will take over the job from Alex Romero, who is currently behind bars.
Dana is described as being “competent, professional, moralistic, and sharp.” She’s also said to possess a “small-town vibe that belies her highly observant nature.” This could mean that Dana will quickly see through Norman’s lies. Will she be the one to finally expose him for the psychotic killer that he is?
Bates Motel viewers are on the edge of their seats waiting for Season 5 to begin. Season 4 of the Psycho prequel series was full of twists and turns. The most shocking storyline of the season was without a doubt Norma Bates’ death. While fans knew that Norma’s death was coming eventually, the fact that it happened in Season 4’s penultimate episode was jaw dropping.
Fans watched as Norman killed his mother, Norma, in a failed murder-suicide attempt. Norman would have also perished from carbon monoxide poisoning if Sheriff Romero hadn’t stepped in and saved him. Sadly, it was too late for his new wife, Norma. After his mother’s death, Norman went completely off the deep end. He had her body buried, but upon returning home, he couldn’t stand the thought of her in a grave.
Bates Motel fans then watched a disturbing scene as Norman returned to the cemetery and dug up Norma’s lifeless body. Norman then took his mother’s corpse home and glued her eyes open. In the delusions of Norman’s mind, Norma was still very much alive, and the two began to interact like normal inside the confines of their home.
While Norma is dead, she will not be gone. Actress Vera Farmiga is expected to be shown on the series just as much, if not more, than she ever was. Norma has taken up full residence inside Norman’s head, and she’s not going anywhere .
In Bates Motel Season 5, fans will likely see Norma’s other son, Dylan, find out about his mother’s death. Dylan will likely suspect that Norman had something to do with it, and if he talks to Romero, he should get a good sense of what’s going on. Meanwhile, Romero will be dealing with the legal fallout of his crimes, and could end up facing serious prison time.
However, the most talked about storyline of Season 5 will likely be the entrance of famous Psycho character Marion Crane . Marion is set to enter the series very soon and will be played by none other than popular singer/actress Rihanna. The big casting announcement was made at Comic-Con over the summer much to the fans’ delight.
The biggest questions about Bates Motel’s final season will be who, besides Marion Crane, will Norman murder, and will he get caught? Will the new sheriff in town be the one to bust Norman for good, or will he continue his murderous wrath? Wrapping up the series in a way that fans will love could be a challenge for the writers, but since Season 4 was so thrilling that viewers are confident the final season will be satisfying.
