Blake Shelton And Miranda Lambert Reunite For A Good Cause
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are collaborating once again.
Despite ending their marriage last summer, the former couple set aside their differences and reunited for a special song for the upcoming CMA Awards.
According to E! Online, Lambert didn’t hesitate when asked to perform with Shelton and dozens of other artists.
“When I first heard about it, it was hard to wrap my mind around it,” Lambert revealed. “How many people are on three songs? How long is it? It’s not very long of time to fit a lot of things in.”
The country stars are joining a collection of artists for a special mashup of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver, “On the Road Again” by Willie Nelson, and “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton, which is being called “Forever Country.”
For Shelton, he immediately said yes to the project before knowing any of the details.
“This is one of those things where you get the phone call …and I really didn’t even ask what the song was. I just said sure, I’d love to be a part of whatever you guys are doing,” he shared. “It’s one of those things where you’re just honored to be in with accompanying artists.”
According to ET Online, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, and Faith Hill are also on the track, along with 30 other country singers.

While Lambert and Shelton still have their issues, she admitted that being a part of the country music family is bigger than any personal problems she may have with the country crooner.
“I think country music has always been described as a family and now having been in it for 12 years, I 100 percent agree,” she stated. “It’s about the community and friends and relationships you make over the years. It’s really cool that almost everybody that’s part of the project had a duet together or performed together or toured together or something as a combo.”
Blake Shelton couldn’t agree more with his ex-wife’s assessment.
“I think it’s going to be one of those things where everybody is going to remember and everybody’s going to have a moment…that they really connect to. It’s crazy. It’s magical,” Shelton added.
Fans can watch Shelton and Lambert together again when the 50th Annual CMA Awards airs November 2 on ABC.
Meanwhile, Shelton’s romance with Gwen Stefani continues to make headlines.
In fact, Fox News is reporting that Shelton recently used Stefani to win over a contestant on The Voice.
On the latest episode, Ethan Tucker was auditioning for the hit NBC show and Adam Levine was the only coach to turn his chair. However, towards the end of the performance, Shelton turned around to compete for Tucker’s loyalty.
Tucker told the coaches that reggae and blues were his musical influences and seemed reluctant to pick Shelton.
The situation changed once Shelton made a veiled reference to Stefani.
“I do have some serious connections in that reggae/ska world these days,” he stated.
“Really?” Adam quickly answered. “You’re gonna do that?”
In the end, Tucker decided to join Shelton’s team. Clearly, Stefani still has some pull on the show, even though she is not scheduled to make an appearance this season.
Based on Shelton’s reference to the “No Doubt” alum, there is a possibility that Stefani could make a short cameo this season.
Of course, Shelton couldn’t resist rubbing his victory in Levine’s face.
“I’m not afraid to say I played the Gwen Stefani card,” Shelton told the audience later. “If you got it, you gotta use it.”
New episodes of The Voice air Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
