Since Fuller House premiered in February 2016 fans have been anxiously awaiting to hear when Season 2 would make its debut. Everyone who grew up watching Full House was excited to see the original cast return for the reunion series, minus the Olsen twins who did not sign on for the new show. Now they just can’t get enough! Fuller House is being aired on Netflix, so for fans who binge watched the entire season in February, it has been a long wait for the next season to be released.
So, when is Season 2 of Fuller House expected to return? The wait is almost over. The official Fuller House Twitter revealed that the scheduled premiere date on Netflix will be December 9. Season 2 of Fuller House has a lot of surprises in store, including a guest appearance by New Kids on the Block. Entertainment Weekly shared news that this season will be filled with holiday episodes. Candace Cameron Bure, who plays DJ Tanner, shared they will have “a Halloween show, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, and lots of family.” Bure revealed on The View Wednesday that Season 2 of Fuller House will cover several special events, but she did not share exactly what would be taking place.
The Fuller House cast showed their love for ’90s boy band New Kids On the Block during the first season when they demonstrated their snazzy dance moves to NKOTB hit single “The Right Stuff.” Now in the second season, their New Kid dreams are coming true in Episode 5 when the band comes into the house. The Fuller House cast and the New Kids themselves took to social media to share their excitement about the appearance. Jordan Knight took to Instagram to share a photo of his dressing room door with a caption saying, “This is just toooo exciting!!! #fullerhouse #nkotb #netflix.”
Andrea Barber, who plays Kimmy, also took to social media to share her excitement over the New Kids appearance, which included brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood. Barber shared a photo of the experience and said, “When your favorite band collides with your favorite sitcom, magic happens.” Joey McIntyre also shared a photo on Instagram featuring the cover of the script for this episode, titled “New Kids in the House.”
Aside from the much-anticipated appearance by New Kids on the Block, there is also a new cast member making a debut during Season 2 of Fuller House. It was shared by International Business Times that DJ Tanner’s ex-boyfriend Nelson will not be played by the original cast member Jason Marsden due to conflicting schedules. Instead, the role will now be played by Hal Sparks. While Nelson will be returning to the show, he will not date DJ. Candace Bure has said that this season, DJ will make a decision and choose between Steve and Matt.
While fans have been hoping Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would make a cameo appearance on Fuller House, it is looking like that will not happen. Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie Tanner, revealed they have tried just about everything to get the twins to come back. Sweetin revealed they have pretty much given up on the idea.
The twins won’t be returning during Season 2, but other familiar faces will be making special guest appearances. This would be none other than Lori Laughlin, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, and Bob Saget. International Business Times also shared that there is a lot of other fun episodes planned for this season of Fuller House, including meeting Joey’s family, a special appearance by Jodie Sweetin’s real daughter, and something involving a monkey, Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse.
Fuller House is a spin-off of the original series Full House which aired from 1987-1995. Since the original show went off the air in 1995, fans have hoped for a reunion. They finally got their wish 21 years later. Don’t miss Fuller House when it premieres its second season in December on Netflix.
