Was Lizzy Caplan Brad Pitt’s Mistress? They Were Allegedly ‘Caught Kissing’ Months Ago
Lizzy Caplan and Brad Pitt faced rumors of an affair months ago, but was there any truth to the reports?
Following the confirmation of Pitt’s divorce from Angelina Jolie, fans are wondering what caused the couple to part ways after just two years of marriage, and as the speculation continues, names are being thrown out as possible Brad Pitt mistresses.
On September 20, HNGN cited three potential mistresses, including Lizzy Caplan, Marion Cotillard, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
“[Angelina Jolie’s] intense jealousy over [Brad Pitt’s] Allied co-stars Marion Cotillard and Lizzy Caplan, and what he sees as her stubborn refusal to take care of herself after so many health scares,” are among the couple’s marriage troubles, a source told Life & Style prior to Jolie’s divorce filing on Monday.

Lizzy Caplan played the sister of Brad Pitt’s character in the upcoming World War II film Allied, which also starred another one of his alleged mistresses, Marion Cotillard, but that didn’t prevent rumors from circulating regarding a secret romance earlier this year. As the cast filmed scenes for the flick in London, a report surfaced claiming Lizzy Caplan had been “caught kissing” Brad Pitt.
In photos shared by Radar Online in May, Pitt is seen leaning in for a kiss as Lizzy Caplan, who was wearing a printed silk robe, placed her hand on his chest. The report went on to ask readers if it was possible that history would repeat itself. In 2005, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fell in love on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith while he was married to Jennifer Aniston.
At the time Lizzy Caplan’s “passionate kiss” with Pitt occurred, Radar Online confirmed his wife, who was said to be living in London with their kids during the movie’s production, was nowhere in sight.
In response to the photos shared by Radar Online, Gossip Cop claimed there was nothing going on between Lizzy Caplan and Brad Pitt — at least not romantically. As the outlet pointed out, the photos were taken as the actors filmed a scene for Allied and they weren’t “caught” doing anything they shouldn’t have been doing.
“Pitt and Caplan plays siblings in the film, and the set photos in question depict him kissing his ‘sister’ on the cheek, despite the webloid alleging the two were ‘sharing a passionate kiss,'” the outlet explained to readers.

In addition to Gossip Cop‘s report shutting down the rumors, Lizzy Caplan became engaged to her boyfriend, English actor/producer Tom Riley, around the time the photos hit the web. In July of this year, after Lizzy Caplan stepped out looking cozy with Riley and a stunning new diamond ring on her engagement finger, a rep for Caplan confirmed the pair was engaged to Us Weekly.
According to the report, Lizzy Caplan and Tom Riley kept their engagement on the down-low for months as Riley actually popped the question in NYC in May.
Lizzy Caplan began dating her current fiance in January 2015 after meeting in London. Then, in 2016, they made their red carpet debut at the 2016 Prague Opera Ball. Months later, while speaking to Elle magazine, Caplan spoke of her desire for children and admitted that she’s “romanticized the idea of a stay-at-home dad” before.
“Partly because I think that’s a very sexy thing, but also because if there are two working actors and both of them get a job and they have a baby, the woman is going to stay with the baby,” she explained. “I see it all the time. It just seems very unfair.”
