‘NCIS’?: ?Wilmer Valderrama?? Joins The Cast As Agent Nicholas Torres
NCIS‘ Wilmer Valderrama character now has a name: Agent Nicholas Torres. And tonight is the night viewers got to see Wilmer Valderrama in his NCIS debut.
For people who have not been paying attention to the show during the summer hiatus, let us catch up on the inclusion of Wilmer Valderrama to NCIS‘ cast.
According to E! News, NCIS‘ Wilmer Valderrama character will be a person who has been missing for half a year.
“Nick, who has been on a deep undercover assignment in Argentina, has been missing for six months—until he has a run-in with some enemies and Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Bishop (Emily Wickersham) come to his rescue,” the entertainment news outlet reports.
On NCIS, Wilmer Valderrama’s Nicholas Torres is also rumored to have had a fling with another character, at least according to a tease reported by Entertainment Weekly.
“Wilmer Valderrama and Jennifer Esposito are new additions to the cast of NCIS, but their characters are no strangers to one another.”
“In a recent video interview with EW, the costars hinted at the shared history between Valderrama’s Nick Torres, an agent emerging from years in deep cover, and Esposito’s Alexandra Quinn, a FLETC instructor returning to the field.”
“Speaking about the characters with a dash of mischief that suggested a non-platonic past, Valderrama said Torres ‘went to the academy and he was taught by Ms. Quinn. And there was, you know, there may have been some interesting run-ins with [his] teacher in the past.'”
The addition to NCIS of Wilmer Valderrama may seem odd to fans of That 70s Show who are used to seeing him playing the fun-loving foreign exchange student Fez, but 2paragraphs notes that the 70s Show actor has joined Ashton Kutcher in showing range since the long-running Fox sitcom went off the air.
“The Miami-born actor is known for his roles on Grey’s Anatomy (Kyle Diaz), Minority Report (Will Blake), From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (Carlos Madrigal), Awake(Detective Efrem Vega), and That ’70s Show (Fez), among others,” the site notes.
It goes on to say that prior to NCIS, Wilmer Valderrama did the voice of Manny on the animated show Handy Manny for six years.
As for tonight’s NCIS season premiere, Wilmer Valderrama’s addition to the show could be long-lasting, according to the reporting of E! News, which said he is enjoying his new role and the cast he works with each week.
“I love these people. They’re so incredible, they’re so empowering and crazy-talented. So it’s been fun to go out there and swing with the big boys!” Wilmer Valderrama said of his NCIS cast mates.
