Drew Barrymore Living It Up After Divorce, ‘Partying’ With Her Two Toddlers And Having The Time Of Her Life
Drew Barrymore has just shown that a wild Labor Day weekend doesn’t necessarily have to be some Hollywood star-studded party that involves heavy drinking and other naughty activities, according to ET Online.
For this year’s Labor Day weekend, the 41-year-old Never Been Kissed actress took her two daughters to feed some turtles instead of attending a Hollywood party. And the outing didn’t just end with feeding the turtles as Drew Barrymore and her daughters also posed for selfies.
In the photos shared via Drew Barrymore’s Instagram account, the actress is seen feeding the turtles with her two toddlers from her ex-husband, Will Kopelman; three-year-old Olive and two-year-old Frankie.
It’s been less than half a year since Drew Barrymore and Kopelman announced their split, but their divorce was finalized only last month. However, the duo assured everyone that their children wouldn’t suffer from their divorce, and in her interview with People magazine, the mother-of-two said that their children are their “universe.”
“Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority.”
It doesn’t seem that Drew Barrymore wants the same early age fame for her kids as she had. When the actress was the age her children are now, she was already actively participating in commercials, and she starred in her first film at five-years-old.
And then came Drew Barrymore’s hit role as Gertie in 1982’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which made her famous worldwide and scored her plenty of other film projects. But her sudden fame was too much for Barrymore to handle, so she started struggling with drug addiction and was a frequent guest at the wildest parties in Hollywood.
But 30 years later, Drew Barrymore is a responsible and caring mother who enjoys spending a Labor Day weekend in the company of her two daughters instead of partying hard at some nightclub.
And it sure looks like Drew Barrymore will take a good care of her two daughters and won’t allow them to have the kind of lifestyle she had in her teenage years. As the actress herself revealed in her memoir titled Little Girl Lost, by the time she was 13-years-old, she had tried cocaine, smoked marijuana, and started drinking heavily.
Drew Barrymore had to enter rehab as a pre-teen and then managed to come back to acting in her young adulthood. Ever since then, she has written a few books, started her own line of makeup products, and starred in several hit films.
Drew Barrymore is no stranger to throwback pics from her childhood days. She had previously shared snaps of herself on the set of E.T. when she was six years old. Just recently, the 50 First Dates star shared a photo from behind-the-scenes of 1984’s Firestarter, which was based on the horror novel of the same name by Stephen King.
And it sure seems that Drew Barrymore loves turtles as it certainly wasn’t her first turtle trip. Just several months ago, she shared another selfie posing with turtles.
Drew Barrymore is not only fond of turtles but also of dancing, according to ET Online. The 41-year-old took a dance lesson with Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin, and she boasted some killer moves!
Last month, Drew Barrymore also shared a makeup-free selfie of herself working out on a yoga mat.
It sure seems like the actress kept herself busy with fun and healthy activities this past summer, even though it was all during the legal proceedings of her divorce from Will Kopelman.
Drew Barrymore also took her several friends to Las Vegas last month, and she even had the chance to meet David Copperfield.
