Mike Pence Doing Public Relations For Donald Trump
Mike Pence was interviewed Sunday on This Week with George Stephanopoulos, where he was asked about Donald Trump putting an end to the birther controversy.

The Mike Pence interview was conducted by co-anchor Martha Raddatz, who pushed for him to respond as to why he didn’t admit to the president’s birth sooner.
Before Raddatz started the interview, she referred to how offensive the birther conspiracy was to millions of Americans.
“That birther rumor, highly offensive to so many Americans because it attempted to undermine the legitimacy of the first African-American president.”
More than a few times, Raddatz said that Hillary Clinton did not start the birther movement.

In the interview, Mike Pence went after the national media twice, before Raddatz would defend it when rather than want to focus on the birther conspiracy, he said that he understood why the national media was paying so much attention to the birther issue, in order to distract attention from the real issues.
One article on CNN pointed to the contrast between the Republican running mate for VP and his Democratic counterpart Tim Kaine, where Kaine said that Donald Trump was inciting violence when Donald Trump suggested last week that Clinton’s security team should drop their guns to see what happens to her.
“What did that mean when he said that just three weeks again? And when you look at a series of these comments that he’s making, I do believe it is an (incitement) — or at a minimum, an expression of indifference to whether violence would occur.”
What Tim Kaine was referring to was three weeks before when Donald Trump suggested that the Second Amendment people would do something about Clinton, which many took to mean he was suggesting assassination.
The article also talks about the This Week interview with Mike Pence, who took the questioning about Donald Trump’s birther views and the suggestion that he was inciting violence as nonsense. He also attacked the national media for not covering the issues and for the suggestion that it was assassination Donald Trump was alluding to.
“That’s absolute nonsense. His comment was that if she didn’t have all that security she would change her attitude about the right to keep and bear arms. And I’ll bet that’s probably true.”

Throughout the week, there have been other issues that Mike Pence has also had to do public relations for, such as the recent news that George Bush, Sr. has publicly said that they would be voting for Hillary Clinton.
And an article by The Hill refers to another interview that took place on Tuesday on The O’Reilly Factor on Fox News.
“I hold President Bush in the highest regard and I respect his opinion but I respectfully and strongly disagree. I’ll respect the right of everyone in my party and every one in this country to make their own choice, but for me and for more and more Americans everyday — Republicans, Democrats and independents — Donald Trump is the right choice and when we make him president we’ll make America great again.”
Inquisitr wrote about Mike Pence when he appeared to be distancing himself from Donald Trump for a bit, when he said he would be releasing his tax returns when Donald Trump would not.
Aside from denying that Donald Trump was saying what he actually said, Mike Pence’s attack on the media appears to be a common target for his campaign, as former campaign manager Paul Manafort was also known for going after the media in many interviews with him.
One op-ed piece published by Inquisitr compares Paul Manafort’s public relations tactics with those used with Russian propaganda, where the interview questions are deflected and dismissed. In a way, Mike Pence seems to operate in a similar fashion where the media is attacked as not covering important issues or attacking the rival candidate.
