‘Grand Theft Auto Online’ Is Finally Getting New Co-op Content With GTA V’s Next DLC Update
When Rockstar Games first launched Grand Theft Auto Online, the ambitious multiplayer feature for GTA V included plenty of competitive and cooperative gameplay modes alike. However, while the developer has continued to show their support for GTA Online over the years, most of the new content released lately for the game has strictly revolved around the addition of competitive matches.
For the most part, fans of co-op gaming haven’t seen any major new features added to Grand Theft Auto Online since the launch of online heist missions back in 2015. In the same update that introduced these large scale co-op robberies, Rockstar Games games also released the first Adversary Mode match to GTA V. Bringing new versions of this competitive mode proved easy for the development team, which has left most of the title’s updates to focus on releasing different Adversary Modes while leaving the game lacking new co-op content.
Thankfully, however, Rockstar Games is now prepared to finally release more cooperative features for Grand Theft Auto Online. While sharing their plans for the game’s next free DLC on the official Rockstar Newswire blog, the developer confirmed that new co-op gameplay content is officially on the horizon.
In the upcoming update, which is simply titled “Bikers,” GTA V players will be able to create their own biker gangs alongside their friends within the title’s online multiplayer mode. The developer has announced that users will be able to enjoy new game modes that should appeal to fans of either competitive or cooperative play.
The new motorcycle clubs will function similarly to player-run guilds that can often be found in other online titles. Players can even customize their gang by assigning specific ranks to individual members. According to Rockstar’s early announcement, the next update for Grand Theft Auto V will even give each club the ability to set up a headquarters for their biker gang.
“Bikers, the next big addition to GTA Online, brings the eagerly-anticipated ability to form and lead your very own Motorcycle Club for up to 8 players. Bikers will introduce new roles to play from fresh Prospects to club Presidents with a massive slate of new competitive and co-op gameplay, along with a range of new motorcycles, properties that include MC Clubhouses with a special custom Biker mechanic, and venues for seedy business ventures.”
To help fans look the part, the “Bikers” update will also add lots of new biker-themed customization options to GTA Online. This will include new clothing pieces, tattoos, and weapons for any would-be biker.
Rockstar Games didn’t provide a release date for Grand Theft Auto V‘s next DLC Update, but the developer did remind players that they can already buiild their own criminal organization by becoming a corrupt CEO. Soon, however, “Bikers” will give those who aren’t interested in wearing business suits a chance to run their own syndicate.
In the past several months, Rockstar has also been regularly hosting a series of in-game events within GTA Online that award players with bonus experience and cash for completing varying missions. These week-long celebrations also give fans access to a wide selection of discounts on weapons, properties, vehicles and more. Users can expect to continue to enjoy these special events in the upcoming weeks after the developer revealed their ongoing commitment to keep the bonuses going.
“And ongoing weekly GTA Online bonuses highlight the enormous breadth of available undertakings. Be on the lookout for more of these throughout the fall as well, including continued opportunities for bonus GTA$ and RP in select activities, valuable discounts and new weekly Premium Stunt Races.”
It isn’t surprising to see that Rockstar Games is still showing their support to Grand Theft Auto Online after nearly three years considering how much money the game continues to make in digital sales through Shark Card purchases. As the Inquisitr reported earlier this year, even GTA V publisher Take-Two Interactive admits to being surprised by the game’s enduring success.
Are you looking forward to seeing more co-op gameplay in GTA Online as part of the upcoming DLC update?
