Melissa Gorga Envy: How The Boutique Is Causing Marital Problems With Joe Gorga

Melissa Gorga’s Envy boutique is up and running and it sounds like she’s very proud of her accomplishments with this store. Melissa really wants her husband to be proud of her and everything she’s accomplished with this store, but he’s more concerned about his meals being ready when he returns home from work. While Gorga wants her children to see a successful mom, who knows how to run a business and create a little empire, her husband doesn’t seem too eager to help her find success. He prefers a housewife at home in New Jersey.

According to a new Bravo report, Melissa Gorga is now revealing that she and her husband have been struggling to see eye-to-eye on this issue. Joe did help her build Envy, and he even offered his construction services to make the space look flawless. But he had expected Gorga to hire out so she could be at home. Sadly, the transition isn’t as quick as he had hoped, and this has caused a rift between them.

“To Joe, family is everything and I absolutely love that about him. It is the core piece to leading a fulfilling and happy life, and I really have been feeling the pressure to do my best at both jobs. I have been a full-time mom and now with the kids away most of the day at school, I need to do something for myself that I can own and be proud of,” Melissa Gorga reveals in her blog for Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

It’s no secret that Joe really cares for his family. When his sister, Teresa Giudice, was found guilty of fraud and sentenced to 13 months behind bars, he was devastated. He went to visit Teresa once behind bars, and he was completely devastated by seeing his sister behind bars. Melissa Gorga understood how painful this was for him, but she was never invited into the prison to visit with her sister-in-law.

The marital problems between Melissa Gorga and Joe are now playing out on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and it sounds like he’s not exactly willing to let go of his traditional ways. He was probably raised with his mother taking care of the home, while his father was in the field working and making money. This new routine is taking quite the toll on him, as he doesn’t understand that his wife wants some independence.

“Joe and I are still figuring out this new daily routine. At the end of the day, I just to want to feel the same sense of achievement he does. His resistance in accepting this new normal had just added to the confusion I had been feeling, which is what you saw on the last episode. I think what makes our marriage so strong is that we are able to communicate and listen to each other. I really heard him when he said he needed that family time again, which is why I think the dinner we had was such a healing moment in this episode,” Melissa Gorga explains in her blog, sharing that she has been supportive of him throughout his career decisions.

What many fans actually don’t know is that Melissa actually has a degree in teaching. When she met Joe, she was going to school to become a teacher. While that may not be her career dream now, it sounds like she does want some kind of career for herself.
