‘Days Of Our Lives’: Theresa Won’t Die? Shane And Kim’s Return Story Hinted By ‘DOOL’ Writers [Spoilers]
Days Of Our Lives fans are wondering what will happen to Theresa Donovan when Jen Lilley airs her final scenes. There were rumors that the character could die. However, the new co-head writing team recently teased small spoilers regarding Shane, Kim, and Theresa. It sounds like she won’t die at all, but will exit another way.
DOOL spoilers are ahead. If you don’t want to know what could happen on the NBC soap opera, then stop reading.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Theresa Donovan’s final scenes will not air on NBC until the end of the year. Jen Lilley confirmed this on Instagram, in which she announced her departure from Days Of Our Lives. Even though there were rumors that Theresa will die on the soap opera, it seems that she might leave in another way.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Dena Higley and Ryan Quan discussed changes the new co-head writing team is making to the long-running soap opera. During the interview, a few spoilers for Days Of Our Lives were revealed. Quan hinted that Kim (Patsy Pease) and Shane’s (Charles Shaughnessy) return isn’t for Theresa’s funeral. It seems that she will be alive when Kim and Shane return to Salem. However, Theresa will be in some trouble.
“Like, when Theresa is in trouble and she has a problem, it seems natural that Kim and Shane show up and then it’s, ‘Oh, they can really help in this story, too.’ And we naturally find ways to use these people who people love and miss.”
One Days Of Our Lives theory includes the possibility that Kim and Shane will take Theresa home with them. However, what about Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Tate? There is no way that Brady would let his son move so far away. Also, what about Brady and Theresa’s relationship? Does this mean that they aren’t meant to be together after all? Or will Jen Lilley be recast, just like Marci Miller replaced Kate Mansi as Abigail Deveraux?
A few months ago, Jen Lilley spoke with SoapCentral about Tate’s kidnapping. The actress could not reveal any Days Of Our Lives spoilers, but did say she hopes to return to the soap opera one day. If her possibly returning was made clear, then she might not be killed off. That way, it would be easy to have her come back to Salem if and when she wanted to. When asked if she had any regrets about being on the soap opera, Lilley said no.
“Absolutely not. I loved every minute. I still hope to come back.”
The co-head writing team also teased what is coming up next for other characters. Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) are going to get back together. There is a love triangle involving the younger characters on Days Of Our Lives.
The storyline with Orpheus (George DelHoyo), Clyde (James Read), and Xander (Paul Telfer) is going to last a few months and affects a lot of people in Salem. Also, Hope killing Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) will be addressed. There will be consequences, but will be told in a “super fun way.” Expect Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) to have a twisty tale that puts her back in the driver’s seat and there will be a realistic cancer story, too.
Higley and Quan also made it clear that that there will be more romantic storylines. Even though they want to get away from the darkness in Salem, there still will be some mystery and adventure, just like fans remember from the old days.
What do you think will happen with Kim, Shane, and Theresa? Are you looking forward to the changes Dena Higley and Ryan Quan are making to Days Of Our Lives?
