WWE News: Paul Heyman Teases The Rock & Brock Lesnar Match Plus Challenges Conor McGregor [Video]
In WWE News, an interview with Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman from earlier this summer was recently released. It was conducted by The Sun during a promotion for the video game WWE 2K17. For months, rumors have abounded that there may be a possible return from former WWE superstar Goldberg. The WWE universe has speculated on a possible rematch from WrestleMania 20 between Lesnar and Goldberg. But after hearing what Heyman had to say in this interview, fans may set their focus on a possible match between Lesnar and the Rock.
Brock Lesnar has had a blockbuster summer: he returned to the Octagon at UFC 200 defeating Mark Hunt, and Lesnar left Randy Orton in a puddle of blood at SummerSlam. WWE has booked Lesnar to be a nearly undefeatable monster, which he is in reality. The 39-year-old is an NCAA heavyweight champion, a Big Ten Conference champion, a former UFC heavyweight champion, and multiple professional wrestling champion (including winning the coveted WWE title on four different occasions). Given his accolades, Brock Lesnar has been booked correctly to reflect the unstoppable force that he is.
The first time Lesnar won the WWE world title was against The Rock at SummerSlam 2002. The Rock (real name Dwayne Johnson) would go on to seek a highly successful career in Hollywood. From time to time, Johnson returns to the wrestling ring for a promo or a match. It was rumored that Johnson was supposed to face Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 but that didn’t happen. But as fans know, anything is possible in professional wrestling, so that match can’t be ruled out for the next WrestleMania. As The Sun reported on September 16, Paul Heyman had some specific words when Brock Lesnar was asked if he’s ready to take on The Rock at WWE’s Wrestlemania 33.
“Notice how The Rock picks fights with Bray Wyatt, or fights with Rusev and John Cena? Notice how The Rock doesn’t pick a fight with Brock Lesnar? Is Brock Lesnar ready for The Rock? Is The Rock ready for Brock?”
To say that the UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is outspoken would be an understatement. He is openly a fan of the WWE and uses wrestling-like promos in the UFC. McGregor has stated on social media that he is a bigger attraction than Lesnar, and in the video below Heyman issued a challenge to Conor.

Brock Lesnar is more than twice the weight of Conor McGregor, so that match won’t happen in the UFC. But if Conor and Brock were to put on a sports entertainment match in the WWE, it would be highly profitable and very entertaining.
Regardless if The Rock will ever face Lesnar again, there are many wrestlers who have shown their interest in taking on “The Beast.” Channel Guide Magazine conducted an interview with NXT champion Shinsuke Nakamura and covered the WWE news that the champion would be up to facing Brock Lesnar.
“If I [Nakamura] get a chance, I would be up for that. My body would need to be ready because he is tough. Ouch.”
Lesnar and Nakamura squared off before in New Japan Pro Wrestling. “The Beast” defeated Nakamura at The Tokyo Dome to retain the IWGP (International Wrestling Grand Prix) championship. Nakamura would go on to train with Brock, so the two have a rich history together. A WWE match between the pair could be nothing short of spectacular since they already have chemistry together.

Whether Brock Lesnar ever faces The Rock at WrestleMania, or takes on McGregor or Nakamura, one thing is for sure: Brock Lesnar is the most dominant force in the WWE and that is likely not to change anytime soon.
