‘Mountain Monsters’ Renewed For Another Season By Destination America

This popular monster-hunting series has been renewed for a fifth season and according to TV Series Finale, filming is scheduled to begin this month, which should make the show’s fans very happy. During the previous season of Mountain Monsters, the team turned their focus to hunting the elusive and secretive creature best known as Bigfoot. The Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS) team previously sought out every legendary creature ranging from the Lizard Demon of Wolf County, to the Perry County Grassman. After constantly running into signs of Bigfoot in each of the locations the mountain monster hunters previously investigated, the Mountain Monsters team decided it was time to take a different approach to their investigations.

“Mountain Monsters fans are about as loyal as they come, second only to the AIMS team and their unwavering dedication to finding Bigfoot,” said Jane Latman, general manager of Destination America. “We hear from devoted viewers every single day wanting to know when they’ll get to see more of their favorite monster hunters, and we’re excited to announce that the wait is almost over.”

The Mountain Monsters team believes that there are several different types of Bigfoot such as the Cherokee Devil, and each one comes complete with their own unique story and history. Renew Cancel TV shared that over the last 10 years, the Mountain Monsters group has uncovered evidence that there may be more than a dozen different Bigfoot clans that roam the dense forests and dark lakes of the 1,500-mile long Appalachian mountain chain. Hunting in these conditions for potentially dangerous creatures is daunting enough, but last season the Mountain Monsters team faced a new problem that put them in a dire situation.

The AIMS team soon began to realize that they were being watched by a mysterious rival team while out searching for Bigfoot. Their goal of hunting and trapping a Bigfoot became almost secondary when the AIMS team began to feel they were in very real danger. Conflict with the other group eventually ended in a cliffhanger finale after the other team led the AIMS group on a type of scavenger hunt to retrieve clues as to who they were and what they wanted.

Last season the Mountain Monsters team’s fearless leader, John Tice, better known as Trapper John, was sidelined with a serious illness. Since he couldn’t go on hunts with the other Mountain Monsters members, he handled the logistics for each of their hunts. Quite the colorful character, to Trapper every monster or Bigfoot the Mountain Monsters team went after was a “son of a b*itch” that must be trapped. Fans began to notice that he said it a lot, and some began to keep a running count. During one episode where there was a lot of excitement among the Mountain Monsters team, he used that particular expletive a record 20 times. All joking aside though, Trapper and his team are very serious about what they do, and during the new season of Mountain Monsters, they plan to investigate fresh reports of Bigfoot sightings. Perhaps this will be the season that they are able to successfully track and trap one of the mysterious creatures.

Huckleberry is the one who provides security for the group, and is part of the Mountain Monsters team that does the night excursions. Jeff is the researcher and he provides most of the background information and descriptions of what the current Bigfoot they are hunting may exhibit. Buck is the youngest of the Mountain Monsters group, and is an expert animal caller. He usually accompanies Trapper, Huckleberry, and Jeff on both night investigations.

Although Willy is on the quiet side, he is the trap builder and together with animal tracker Wild Bill, they manage to design and construct very intricate and impressive traps that should be able to capture and hold almost any Bigfoot. The traps do work most of the time, but so far anything the Mountain Monsters team has captured managed to escape before they could get there to see what was inside. The one time they managed to trap and contain a Bigfoot, the rogue rival team killed the creature and hauled it away. Willy and Wild Bill usually join the Mountain Monsters team during the final night’s investigation.

The Mountain Monsters group will also have to figure out who it is that seems to enjoy playing such a dangerous and deadly game with them. After receiving a cryptic message last season, Trapper and the rest of the team will have to watch their backs on every investigation and hunt they conduct.
