‘Outlander’ Stars Sam Heughan And Caitriona Balfe Reunite On And Off Screen
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are back together!
The Outlander stars just reunited on the set of Season 3, but are they getting together in real life too?
Parent Herald reports that rumors of a real-life romance have long plagued the Outlander stars.
Their onscreen chemistry is one reason why fans want to see them hook up off-screen. And Heughan’s recent activity on social media has only fueled the rumors more.
“Congrats to the wifey and thanks to the strong fan vote!!!x” Heughan recently shared on Twitter.
While Heughan was referencing his working relationship with Balfe, calling her “wifey” immediately sparked rumors of a real-life romance.

In fact, many fans believe the two are keeping their relationship a secret to avoid all the publicity.
“Yay!!! They found us! Thank you @OutlandishBaker YUUUUUM!!!!” Heughan wrote on Twitter. “Need that sugar! Might save @caitrionambalfe one.)”
Now, Balfe and Heughan have commented on the rumors of their secret romance.
Balfe told fans that she and Heughan are only good friends, and it would be a mistake to date a co-worker. She also believes that fans want to see them together because of the way their characters interact on the show.
Indeed, Heughan and Balfe have proven time and time again how well they get along as fans have seen in interviews and behind-the-scenes clips.
Sadly, their friendship does not mean anything romantic is currently going down, although that could change in the future.
While a real-life romance might not be in the cards, Game N Guide reports that Jamie and Claire will re-ignite their love affair when Outlander returns for Season 3.
The Season 2 finale featured Claire traveling back to her own time while Jamie stayed behind to fight in the Battle of Culloden.
The new season will pick up after Jamie’s fight in the historic battle and reveal he and Claire lived apart for twenty years.
For Jamie, his time away from Claire includes roaming the countryside, a few stints in prison, and a couple of different lovers.
In fact, if the series follows the Diana Gabaldon’s book closely, then Jamie will have a child with another woman this season.
According to Parent Herald, Jamie falls for a southern girl, and Claire time jumps to the 20th century.
If this happens, then Claire will certainly be heartbroken, though Celeb Dirty Laundry is reporting that she and Jamie will still find a way to work things out.
For now, it appears as though the characters will reunite next season and take their relationship to a whole new level.
At the same time, Jamie’s prison sentence will reacquaint him an Outlander fan favorite, Lord John Grey (David Berry).
Jamie meets Lord John during his time in prison and the two men develop a strong friendship that lasts throughout the entirety of the series.
Speaking of Lord John, reports hint that Berry isn’t getting along with his fellow co-stars just yet. While these reports have not been substantiated, it sounds like Balfe and Heughan aren’t getting along with Outlander’s newest addition.
Producers are also getting ready to cast the part of Jamie’s nephew, Ian. The character, who is Jenny Fraser’s (Laura Donnelly) son, will play an important part as the series moves forward.
Season 3 is based on Gabaldon’s bestselling novel, Voyager, which features Jamie and Claire traveling to exotic places around the globe as their re-ignite their long lost love.
Starz has yet to announce an official release date for Season 3 of Outlander, but fans can expect the series to return sometime in early 2017.
