Bethenny Frankel Divorce: ‘RHONY’ Star Hints Jason Hoppy’s Behavior Affects Bryn

Bethenny Frankel’s divorce is probably one of the longest divorces in Real Housewives of New York history. While Bethenny was only married to Jason Hoppy for a few years, the divorce has gone on for nearly twice as long. Frankel was finally able to sign the last divorce papers in July, and she got access to the apartment that she had bought and designed herself.

Her now ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, had taken over the apartment and had refused to leave the place during the divorce. And as long as Bethenny was paying him spousal support, he was able to live in the apartment. When the judge axed the support, it only took about a month or two for him to vacate the apartment and give the keys back to Frankel.

According to a new Bravo report, Bethenny Frankel is now speaking out about the divorce, revealing that some things still linger even though the drama is essentially over. She is now legally single and can marry whoever she wants, but Jason isn’t exactly out of her life. Since they share custody of their daughter Bryn, they do have to arrange times. While Bethenny and Jason may not speak, she did tell Us Weekly that the negativity still lingers.

“There are still some bad parts that I definitely thought would be gone,” Bethenny Frankel revealed to the magazine in an exclusive interview about her divorce, adding, “But the hardest parts have been anything that seems negative for my daughter. Anything that is unnecessarily negative for my daughter is really challenging for me. You know, you kind of have to look inside, find your strength.”

While Frankel doesn’t exactly point the finger directly at Jason, she does hint that the divorce hasn’t been fun for Bryn. It has been tough for both Bryn and Bethenny. Frankel has revealed that the marriage broke down due to trust issues and possibly competition, as she was making lots of money with Skinnygirl and he wasn’t feeling like he was bringing anything to the marriage in his sales job. Bethenny has denied any cheating.

During last year’s reunion special, Carole Radziwill opened up about what she had experienced, sharing that Jason wouldn’t pick up the phone when Bethenny Frankel would call to say goodnight to her daughter when she was staying with him. He would constantly play games with her and there was nothing Frankel could do. This could be what she’s referring to when she mentions that there are still negative things happening. As for her new man, her dog and her daughter are thrilled.

“He’s exceptionally brilliant and funny and a very major family person,” Bethenny Frankel has revealed about her new boyfriend, Dennis Shields, adding, “My dog and my daughter like the guy.”

But don’t expect Bethenny to get married with a lavish wedding and ceremony.

“Integrity and kindness now are so much more important than I ever even realized, because I didn’t realize how many people don’t have it. I think I’ve been pretty sheltered in my emotional estimation of people. I’ve gotten pretty surprised,” Bethenny Frankel explained to Us Weekly about her relationship, adding, “I finally got to the place where everything is settled. Why start to, like, throw it up in the air again? I’m not looking for helicopters to fly over my house while I wear some big, white poufy dress. I don’t feel ready for that right now.”
