Kelly Dodd Defends Vicki Gunvalson: ‘I Was Embarrassed To Call Meghan My Friend’

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd has been under attack several times this season, as her anger issues have come to the surface. Kelly has lost her temper several times and after she called Shannon Beador the C-word during a dinner, Meghan King Edmonds revealed that she was embarrassed to call her a friend. Meghan didn’t want the ladies to see the bad side of Kelly and she asked her to control her angry outbursts. While Dodd may have worked on her issues, it sounds like King Edmonds may have her own issues to work on.

According to a new Bravo report, Kelly Dodd is now revealing that she was shocked to learn how her friend handled everything after their dramatic dune buggy accident. Dodd reveals that they chose to call King Edmonds to inform of what had happened since she and Kelly are indeed close friends. She knew that King Edmonds was only 45 minutes away from the hospital compared to her, as she was over three hours away.

“At the time we placed the first call to Meghan, to ask her to make the relatively short trip over to the hospital to support Vicki, I thought that Meghan and Vicki’s relationship was in a better place since she attended Vicki’s birthday party. They got along well there and left the party on good terms. So, why the reluctance to go see Vicki during her time of need?” Kelly Dodd explained in her blog, questioning Meghan’s decision to stay away from the emergency room, adding, “I hate to say it, but in that moment, I was embarrassed to call Meghan my friend based upon how she reacted to Vicki being injured in the crash.”

It sounds like Dodd is indeed disappointed over the fact that her co-star didn’t stop what she was doing to go be with Gunvalson in the hospital. Dodd and Vicki have become close friends over the past few months, so Dodd really thought that her friend would make the effort to go be with someone, who was all alone.

Kelly also points out that her Real Housewives of Orange County co-star should have known that the accident was serious, as Tamra Judge was rushed to the hospital and Vicki was airlifted back to Palm Springs, the nearest hospital that deals with trauma. Kelly Dodd is convinced that her friend knew she had messed up and was trying everything possible to save the day.

“Meghan is a smart woman. She did the math and realized she had screwed up. As Heather said, Meghan tried to do some cleanup and a little revisionist history. In the process, she wisely went to visit Vicki to lend support and apologize. Vicki is always straightforward, sometimes to a fault, so she naturally asked Meghan the tough questions that needed to be asked, then being the gracious person she is, accepted Meghan’s apology,” Kelly Dodd has revealed in her Bravo blog, sharing that King Edmonds was trying to get out of a sticky situation.

It’s very interesting that both Meghan and Kelly Dodd said they were friends before Kelly joined The Real Housewives of Orange County, but they are both shocked at their respective behavior. It sounds like these girls may not have known each other at all.
