Naya Rivera appears to be doing some serious backtracking after appearing to suggest that her former fiancé Big Sean may have cheated with Ariana Grande during their engagement.
After the former Glee star appeared to hint in her new tell-all book that Grande and Sean — who went on to date for around eight months after Rivera and the rapper called off their engagement in April 2014 — may have been seeing each other while he was still engaged to her, Naya is now hitting back.
Naya set the record straight amid the Ariana cheating allegations in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight , where she confirmed once and for all that she doesn’t believe anything was going on between the rapper and Grande while they were still engaged.
Rivera was quizzed about the rampant speculation that began after the star slyly name checked Ariana in Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes & Growing Up , in which she revealed that she found Grande hanging out in the rapper’s home after she and Sean had an argument.

“He had a home studio downstairs so, you know, it’s not like anything was crazy when I went there,” Naya said when asked about the Sean and Grande cheating speculation that stemmed from her recently released tell-all.
“You don’t think anything was going on between [Big Sean and Grande]?” Naya was then asked about her former fiancé and Ariana by Entertainment Tonight ‘s correspondent, to which Rivera replied, “No. I don’t. I don’t think so.”
“If we would’ve ended up getting married,” Rivera continued of her almost yearlong romance with Big Sean, “it would’ve ended, like, probably a month later.”
Naya’s new comments come after weeks of speculation that the actress suggested in her new book that Ariana and the rapper may have started their romance while Rivera was still engaged to the rapper.
Though Naya Rivera did not explicitly mention Ariana Grande by name in her memoir, the star did appear to allude to possible cheating between Ariana and the “Blessings” musician, who split in April 2015.
“We’d been fighting for five straight days while he was traveling … he said he didn’t want to see me,” Naya wrote of her tumultuous relationship with Sean in Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes & Growing Up and finding him and Ariana together according to an expert obtained by Us Weekly .
The actress revealed that she then let herself into Sean’s house with her own key in 2014, only to find Grande, who he later dated, hanging out with the rapper.
“I walk in, go downstairs, and guess what little girl is sitting cross-legged on the couch listening to music?” Naya wrote in the book, seemingly of Grande. “It rhymes with ‘Smariana Schmande.’”
Rivera’s claims got fans speculating that the actress was suggesting the twosome may have gotten together before officially going public with their romance at the 2015 Grammy Awards, just a few months after she and Sean called it quits.
Ariana has yet to officially respond to the former Glee star’s cheating claims, and it has never been confirmed that Grande and the rapper were even friendly prior to becoming a couple, though Hollywood Life reported that Grande got word of Naya’s comments in her memoir and wasn’t exactly thrilled about the cheating name drop.
“Ariana doesn’t appreciate the assumptions people are making about her and Big Sean and doesn’t like being a reason to sell books,” an Ariana insider told the site of how Grande allegedly reacted to finding out about Rivera’s tell-all.
“Ariana thinks maybe Naya should look in the mirror and blame herself for the things she is throwing shade over,” an insider continued, before the site confirmed that “there is no love lost between Ariana and Naya, as they are definitely not friends.”
