Dorinda Medley Says Jules Wainstein’s Divorce Came As A Huge Surprise To Her

Dorinda Medley was the one who invited Jules Wainstein onto The Real Housewives of New York because she felt it could be fun to film the reality show with her. Jules is much younger than Dorinda and has two children and when she joined the show, she was happily married to Michael Wainstein. But the show appeared to be a distraction for her, as her husband was busy with a mistress and neglecting his children.

Sadly, she didn’t see any of the warning signs and Dorinda admits that she hadn’t seen any of the signs either. Medley was completely shocked when she learned that the divorce was indeed happening and that Michael had cheated on his wife.

According to a new Bravo report, Dorinda Medley has been very vocal about how much she dislikes Michael for what he did to Jules. Not only did he lie about cheating on her, but he also decided to step out with his mistress on the streets of New York so the paparazzi could get pictures of them together. On the Real Housewives of New York reunion special, she confirmed that the divorce is indeed happening and Dorinda Medley tried to be there for her friend.

Despite rumors that she came onto the show to get divorced, Jules is standing by her story that she had no idea that her marriage would end up the way it did. And Dorinda Medley supports her friend, saying that she was even shocked at the outcome, even though she knew both of them for a long time.

“It’s hard. Listen, she’s at the start of a divorce,” Dorinda told The Daily Dish this week after doing a red carpet appearance, adding, “I know not everybody believes this, but it was completely unexpected. She truly thought [they were] gonna be together, and she’s got two very young children. No one wants to be a young, single mother. It’s not easy. So she’s focused on that.”

Medley has been a support system for her co-star, including being there for her when the cameras went away. One can imagine that Dorinda has given her friend some space to deal with her emotions, but been there when she needed someone in her life.

“I wish her well. I’m very close to her. I talk to her every day,” Dorinda said about the situation, adding, “And I just want her to know that I stand by her. And she’ll come out of it just fine.”

There are many rumors regarding Jules and her possible return to The Real Housewives of New York. The season wraps up tonight with the final installment of the reunion special and contracts may be given out over the next few weeks. One can imagine that Dorinda Medley will return and she will be there for her friend if she decides to return to the show. Medley has already had her co-star’s back throughout this season.

“When it comes to her marriage, we’ve now seen what she’s been dealing with for a while. An absent husband is one thing, an absent father is something even larger. A wife never wants to believe that there is any monkey business going on. It’s hard enough to try and manage two small children, a growing work life AND be a wife. It’s a lot of work, and it’s a team effort that requires two willing and able participants. A wife can only hope and pray her husband is on the same page and working toward the same goals. It’s now clear that Jules didn’t enjoy that in her marriage, and that’s sad,” Dorinda Medley revealed about her co-star in one of her Real Housewives of New York blogs for Bravo.
