Ariana Grande appears to be hitting back after former Glee star Naya Rivera hinted that her former fiancé Big Sean may have been seeing her while the two were still engaged.
According to a new report by Hollywood Life , Ariana got word that Naya mentioned her and Big Sean’s relationship in her new memoir Sorry, Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes & Growing Up , and Grande isn’t happy that Rivera is using her name to sell copies of her new book.
“There is no love lost between Ariana and Naya, as they are definitely not friends,” a source told the site of how Grande reacted to Rivera bringing up her name in the memoir, where she seemingly suggested that Ariana and Sean could have been together before the rapper and former Glee star called off their engagement in April 2014.
“Ariana doesn’t appreciate the assumptions people are making about her and Big Sean and doesn’t like being a reason to sell books,” the site’s insider continued on how Grande feels about being dragged into the latest drama surrounding the actress and her ex, claiming that Ariana believes Naya should look a little closer to home as to why her engagement to Big Sean came to an end two years ago.
“Ariana thinks maybe Naya should look in the mirror and blame herself for the things she is throwing shade over,” the Grande source alleged.
Grande’s response comes after Rivera got seriously candid about her past engagement to Sean in her new book and even claimed that she found the rapper and Ariana hanging out together while she and Sean were still engaged.
“We’d been fighting for five straight days while he was traveling… he said he didn’t want to see me,” Naya wrote of the moment she first found Ariana and her former fiancé together in her new book according to Us Weekly .
Naya Rivera then revealed that she took it upon herself to go to Big Sean’s house and let herself in with her key following their blow out argument, only to find Ariana Grande sitting on the rapper’s couch.
“I walk in, go downstairs, and guess what little girl is sitting cross-legged on the couch listening to music?” Rivera wrote. “It rhymes with ‘Smariana Schmande.’”
Though Rivera didn’t mention Ariana by name in the seriously candid tell-all and didn’t explicitly claim that Grande and the musician were romantically involved prior to their break up, it’s pretty clear that she was referencing the “Into You” singer.
Notably, Grande went on to date Sean for around seven months shortly after he and Naya called off their engagement in April 2014, though it has never been confirmed that the two relationships overlapped.
Grande is yet to officially speak out about the claims through an official statement, though Ariana’s fans certainly haven’t stayed silent following the release of excerpts from Naya’s new book.
“It’s funny how Naya just RECENTLY opened up about Sean ‘cheating’ on her with Ariana,” Twitter user @grandesjades tweeted out in support of Grande amid Naya’s book release on September 13. “Anyways I hope her little fanfic pays her bills.”
“Naya Rivera’s book is going to flop so bad,” @NayaGotFired then added. “Having to use Big Sean and Ariana Grande name to generate buzz.”
But while some fans slammed Rivera over her recent expose, others took to social media to blast Grande for allegedly being by Sean’s side while he was still engaged to the former Glee actress.
“I love her but Ariana is a homewrecker!! She messed around with an engaged man that’s wrong. Naya has the right to expose her. Still luh her,” @jimladdl wrote of Grande and @roseallured added, “I’m glad Naya is exposing people big Sean is an a*****e and Ariana is a homewrecker.”
