Megan Marx: ‘Bachelor Australia’ Contestant Fights Back After Nude Picture Taken While She Was Sleeping Goes Viral

Megan Marx is fighting back after a nude photo leak has gone viral, one that allegedly shows the Bachelor Australia contestant naked while she was sleeping.

The 31-year-old claimed that the photo, which is making the rounds in Australia, was taken without her knowledge or consent. The photo was allegedly snapped sometime earlier this year, the Daily Telegraph noted.

Megan Marx herself didn’t even know about the nude photo until she was informed by a Daily Telegraph reporter, saying she hadn’t even seen them yet.

Megan said she had an idea about who may have taken it, but she wasn’t positive just yet.

“From what I can gather it was someone that I cared quite a lot about who took them. It’s definitely a breach of my trust and my privacy,” she said. “I have a pretty good idea of who it was, but I’ve had a couple of ex-boyfriends so I can’t confirm. I definitely don’t want to falsely accuse anybody.”

Marx said the nude photo leak was especially hurtful given her upbringing. She was raised in a religious household and said she would never entertain the thought of letting a boyfriend snap nude pictures.

“I think that sometimes me being so open-minded can mean things like this will happen. I’m not the kind of girl who would let a guy take naked pictures of me, even if it was a boyfriend,” she said. “Maybe the person had asked if they could take photos and I said no, or maybe they just waited for me to fall asleep, I don’t know.”

Marx is rumored to be dating fellow Bachelor Australia contestant Tiffany Scanlon. While Marx didn’t comment on the rumor, saying that the status of their relationship remains private, she did note that she would consider dating a woman.

“I’m usually attracted to men but I don’t rule anything out… I would say Tiff’s in the same boat,” Marx told NW magazine.

Megan Marx’s nude photo leak comes amid a handful of other high-profile leaks making the news in recent weeks. Late last week, Love Island star Emma-Jane Woodhams was allegedly featured in a short sex tape making the rounds on the internet. As the Mirror noted, the tape appeared to be filmed on purpose.

“The 19-year-old beauty – who is currently dating her Love Island co-star Terry Walsh – appears in the 10-second clip performing a sex act on a man.

“In the video, which has been circulating online, Emma looks into the camera, suggesting she is aware she is being filmed.”

But there was another problem with the video. The Daily Star Online reported that Emma was only 16 at the time the video was filmed, making it illegal to watch or host. The leaked video came after Love Island viewers witnessed a real-life televised romp between Woodhams and co-star Terry Walsh, which actually prompted a number of viewers to complain.

And in the United States, a hacker made national news by targeting the personal website of actress and comedian Leslie Jones, leaving crude and racist messages along with nude pictures of her. The leak came after Jones got into a number of spats with critics online, including conservative writer Milo Yiannpoulos.

Authorities in the U.S. are taking the leak seriously, with the Department of Homeland Security leading an investigation into the website hack.

The nude photo of Megan Marx can also bring big trouble for whoever had taken and leaked it. As the Daily Telegraph noted, it is a crime in Western Australia to photograph someone in the nude without having their consent first. The crime can lead to up to one year in jail and a $5,000 fine.
