‘Modern Family’ Cast Talks Season 8 Spoilers And Rumors
Season 8 of Modern Family is ready to launch, and the plan is to incorporate some of the old, in terms of reunion, and new, with the addition of some new characters. The new season of Modern Family will debut on September 21 on ABC, and fans will find that though they are still a family, there are some changes coming as the kids get older, and business ventures keep many characters busy.
Last year’s Modern Family premiere saw Alex taking off for school for the first time, Luke pulling away from Phil, and Mitchell unemployed for the first time in his life according to the Inquisitr. Last year, Mitch and Cam launched their Airbnb type rental upstairs, so with the new season, fans can look forward to seeing guest stars on Modern Family that are staying in the upstairs apartment.
The Modern Family cast is always eager to tease a new season, and season eight is no exception, with Rico Rodriguez (Manny) who is technically one of the kids, but he has grown up on the show, and he is now a senior in high school, says Wetpaint. Rodriguez seemed to enjoy the chance to spill a bit of dirt but was excited to share that his life and Manny’s are coinciding.

The new season starts on Father’s Day with a family reunion of sorts, which will include all if the primary Modern Family cast and several of the additional characters, says the Parent Herald. The Pritchetts, Dunphys, and Tuckers had all come back from their own vacations to come back together as a start to the new season.
Claire is now the company president of the closet company, but it looks like retirement is not what Jay expected. Claire and Jay will once again butt heads and get in each other’s way, as they both vie to be the big boss in the company. Gloria, on the other hand, has gotten her hot sauce business off the ground and is a business woman as well as mom to Joe and Manny.
Two guest stars that will be fan favorites are Nathan Fillion and Martin Short. Fillion, who just wrapped a long run on Castle will play Rainer Shine, a local weatherman. Martin Short will be playing a guy who works with Phil to make promotional items for his real estate business.
Mitch and Cam have put adopting a second baby on hold, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be taking on another child. It seems that one of the football players on Cam’s team needs a place to stay, and Cam and Mitchell will take him in temporarily according to the executive producer of Modern Family.
“Mitch and Cam are taking in one of the football players from Cam’s team, who’s going to live with them for a little while.”
Fred Willard will also be returning to the show as Phil Dunphy’s dad, and there is a suggestion that he will have his first new love interest since his wife passed away, which will cause Phil to have a bit of an identity crisis.
