When Will ‘The Originals’ Season 3 Come To Netflix?

The Originals Season 3 has finished, but Season 4 won’t be here until January 2017. Does that mean fans will have to wait until then to catch The Originals Season 3 on Netflix? This is a tricky one, and unfortunately, we don’t have all the answers yet.

Figuring out when The Originals Season 3 will be on Netflix isn’t as easy as it is with all the other CW shows. Most of the other shows that aired the same time as this one will begin again in October 2016. With this in mind, the likely date for them appearing on Netflix is going to be either on their newest season premiere date on the CW or a few days before. This is how it has been in recent years.

However, it is possible that The Originals‘ most recent season won’t get to Netflix until Season 4 premieres on the CW. The date is still to be confirmed, but it will be sometime in January 2017. This isn’t because the CW is worried about it, but the network might want to strengthen the mid-season lineup with it.

Will Netflix really hold off that long? After all, Hulu is going to remove all the CW shows on September 18. There are just six days left to catch up on the most recent five episodes of The Originals Season 3.

It is possible that Netflix will stream Season 3 from then. This hasn’t been mentioned in anything about shows coming to Netflix in September 2016, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be any surprises. It wouldn’t be the first time that fans were shocked with the arrival of a show, as they were by Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 coming in June last year.

FanSided’s Netflix Life reports that The Originals Season 3 will likely come to Netflix in October 2016, despite its Season 4 premiere date. Last year, it hit Netflix two days earlier than the Season 3 premiere. Season 2 came to Netflix at the same time as The Flash and iZombie. This would suggest that Season 3 will do the same. Netflix will likely release it on October 3, which is when The Flash is predicted to be released.

However, it is possible that the release date at the same time as The Flash last year was just a coincidence. Because of the change to the CW scheduling, Netflix may wait until The Vampire Diaries Season 7 comes to Netflix instead. The Inquisitr has already reported that The Vampire Diaries Season 7 is likely to be on Netflix in October 2016, just ahead of the Season 8 release date. It would make sense for the two shows to be available on Netflix at the same time. They are both connected since The Originals is a spin-off, and there are hints of The Originals Season 3 finale in sections of The Vampire Diaries Season 7.

At the moment, it isn’t clear. There are no release dates for the movies and shows that will come to Netflix in October 2016. Right now, The Originals Season 3 is expected, and it might be on October 3.

Next year, it will be much easier to work out. Netflix and the CW have entered into an exclusive agreement that will see the full season on Netflix eight days after the finale of the shows. While it’s not exactly clear when The Originals Season 3 will come to Netflix, Season 4 will be eight days after the finale, which may be in May or June 2017.
