Maksim Chmerkovskiy Reveals He Is No Longer Allowed To Be Friends With Kirstie Alley Because Of Scientology

It is time for a new season of Dancing With the Stars, and fans are excited to see Maksim Chmerkovskiy back once again. Maksim has danced with a lot of different partners over the years. When he was partnered with Kirstie Alley, it was obvious that these two had a connection and were friends. Now, it turns out that Maksim Chmerkovskiy isn’t even allowed to be friends with her because of her part in the Church of Scientology.

Maksim shared that after going out on tour with his brother Val, he made the decision that he wanted to start moving again. Maks said, “I want to move a little! So, short of taking f–king salsa lessons, I might as well go do Dancing With the Stars!” After taking a break from the show, fans are excited to see Maksim back on the show again.

One thing that they asked Maksim Chmerkovskiy about was if he made it look like he was in a relationship with Meryl Davis on purpose when they were on the show together. It obviously did help keep them interesting, but Maks said it wasn’t on purpose. He said, “We never were together. It got to the point where we didn’t even know how to continue saying, “No, we’re not dating.” The funny thing is, I’m engaged [to DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd, 30], I have a baby coming, and there are still people who think Maks and Meryl can be a thing!”

Everyone saw the relationship on the show with Maksim and Kirstie Alley. Their friendship is something that is over now, though. This is pretty surprising. Here is what Maksim Chmerkovskiy had to say about it all.

“Scientology happened. You can thank [my friendship with 2013 contestant and former Scientologist] Leah Remini for that. A note was sent to a friend telling me I was “disconnected,” as in, I am no longer allowed to be Kirstie’s friend. I find it ridiculous for an adult human being to “disconnect” from someone. But everyone is entitled to their own insanity.”

Maksim also had to deal with an issue when Hope Solo tried to say that he hit her. Chmerkovskiy said this is not true at all, and the backlash from this was so bad that his grandma was getting death threats from people. Maksim said nobody had his back, and it was a total lie.

Us Magazine shared that Maksim Chmerkovskiy is also speaking out about his fiance Peta Murgatroyd. Maksim says that he is ready to be a dad and has been since he was like 21, but he is glad that it didn’t happen until now. Maks said that Peta would be “an amazing mom.” They already shared that they have a son on the way. Maksim shared about Peta’s pregnancy.

“I try to just keep her happy. It’s important that for me, everything makes sense from a biological standpoint. I have a bit of a chemist in me and I understand the body. We understand because of the lifestyle, the diet and nutrition and the exercise, so I understand the body, and I also understand how hormones jump around … To have the dream pregnancy, you have to keep the environment happy.”

You will not want to miss Maksim Chmerkovskiy back on the dance floor again this season. He will be dancing with his partner, Amber Rose, during Season 23. Of course, everyone knows Maksim is someone that will be sticking around a while.
