Zayn Malik Grows Beard, Covers Perrie Edwards Tattoo: Gigi Hadid Approves

If it wasn’t possible already, Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have gotten even more serious. The former One Direction star has finally covered up his tattoo of former fiancé Perrie Edwards. He’s also been seen rocking a sort of new look lately.

According to recent reports and Zayn Malik’s own fans, the singer covered up his tattoo of Perrie Edwards in the early stages of his relationship with Gigi Hadid. Sugarscape.com revealed that Malik got the tattoo covered up some point after he filmed “Pillowtalk” with Gigi Hadid and right before the time he was seen cooking in Hadid’s kitchen on Snapchat, confirming their relationship.

Now, there’s actual photographic proof that Zayn’s infamous tattoo of Perrie is finally gone. Zayn and Gigi have been recently spotted in New York City together amid the New York Fashion Week festivities. Gigi was spotted wearing a red boyfriend cardigan over a white button down shirt tied at her waist. She paired her look with a silver choker, ripped jeans, black lace up boots, and a plaid shirt tied around her waist.

Meanwhile, Zayn was spotted rocking a black Rolling Stones T-shirt that showed off his tattooed arms and revealed that his Perrie tattoo is finally gone. He paired his look with black distressed jeans and lace up boots. Zayn and Gigi looked very much like a coordinating rock ‘n roll couple during their night out, reports The Mirror.

Malik, 23, and Hadid, 21, have been through the ups and downs of their relationship since June. The couple was faced with numerous reports about Malik’s alleged cheating ways. Justin Bieber claimed that Malik had an affair with Selena Gomez while an Australian waitress claimed that he was taken with her when he was with Perrie.

Zayn first debuted his new look at the Tom Ford show at New York Fashion Week, which included his new fuller facial hair and longer hair, which has received mixed reaction from his own fans. Some love the gruff look while others want him to shave it off, reports Unreality TV. However, the only opinion that Zayn cares about is his girlfriend, Gigi, according to Hollywood Life. An insider said she loves his new look and was the inspiration behind it.

“She [Gigi] is the inspiration behind Zayn’s fuller beard. She’s always liked his scruffy look, but he constantly had to trim it [his beard] and take care of it, so she suggested he just grow it out…She absolutely loves his thicker beard. She thinks he looks ultra sexy and doesn’t mind the occasional beard burn from kissing.”

Like the supportive girlfriend she is, Hadid has helped ease Malik’s anxiety. He has been super open about the anxiety that has haunted him throughout much of his career, which caused him to cancel an upcoming concert in Dubai. Other sources told Hollywood Life that Hadid helped him with his anxiety before his fashion debut at New York Fashion Week.

“Zayn’s anxiety is so much better in the last few months because of Gigi. He just feels so safe and secure with her. Like he’s complete. He was so nervous about NYFW because of all the crowds, but she really helped him get through it.”

And Hadid’s not the only one who’s easing Malik’s anxiety. Her mother, Yolanda Foster, has become sort of his alternative doctor.

“Her mother is kind of a health guru, so she’s turned Gigi on to all kinds of natural techniques to combat his attacks- yoga, mediation, deep breathing, GABA supplements. At first Zayn said his anxiety was too intense and that he couldn’t meditate, so they started with guided meditations, but now he can do TM.”

There have also been rumors that Malik believes that Hadid is “the one” and he will pop the question soon. Sources close to the couple said that the musician is positive that Hadid is the one he wants to be with for the rest of his life, so he’s getting ready to propose.
