‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers: Will Stefan Save Damon?

The beginning of the end is near, if you believe The Vampire Diaries Season 8 spoilers that are coming out of Hollywood. As the first Season 8 trailer hit the Internet, the blogosphere began erupting with theories about what’s to come. And the big question that’s on everyone’s mind is, will Stefan be able to save Damon?

First, according to Entertainment Weekly, the first promo features a lot of The Vampire Diaries Season 8 spoilers. In what is the first promo of the last-ever season of the popular show, Damon is still on a killing rampage — and he’s actually worse than he was before, on account of whatever he found in that fault. Stefan is a good brother, so of course he’s trying to save Damon, but Damon insists that Stefan’s help is futile.

“Once the devil comes a-calling, you’re done.”

Even worse, we get a first look at the beloved Seline, only to see that Damon possibly already killed her! So much for Alaric getting a new love interest in Seline. Poor guy just can’t seem to catch a break.

So the question remains, will Stefan be able to save Damon by the time the season is over?

Other The Vampire Diaries Season 8 spoilers come to us courtesy of Movie News Guide, who suggest that an old favorite character — Elena, played by Nina Dobrev — will be returning, despite Dobrev’s insistence to the contrary. This impending return is causing some undue stress on Ian Somerhalder’s marriage to Nikki Reed. As fans of the show already know, Somerhalder and Dobrev were in a very serious relationship prior to Somerhalder’s marriage to Nikki Reed, and Somerhalder and Dobrev play lovers on the The Vampire Diaries.

And while fans of the Somerhalder/Dobrev “ship” may be dying for the two to reunite — especially since The Vampire Diaries show runner Julie Plec has already said that she plans to “keep her promise” to the fans to bring back Dobrev and her character for the final season — Reed is, obviously, less than thrilled. Somerhalder wasn’t exactly overjoyed to be reunited with his former flame when he was asked about it at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con either, so maybe Nikki doesn’t have much to be concerned with after all.

Finally, the last round of The Vampire Diaries Season 8 spoilers come to us courtesy of Hypable, who suggest that there will be yet another fan favorite that will return to The Vampire Diaries fold this season — Tyler Lockwood! Fans who have been craving some much-needed werewolf drama in the show will be pleased to know that Michael Trevino, who played Tyler until the sixth season (when he left along with Nina Dobrev), has been confirmed to return for the third episode of the eighth and final season. Fans of the show already know that they’ve been able to see Tyler throughout Season 7, though only for sporadic bursts of time.

This is a welcome bit of news for fans who have enjoyed watching Tyler care for Elena’s casket throughout the seventh season, even if he almost got killed for his trouble. Some theories and spoilers even suggest that Tyler will be the one to save Damon by reminding him who and what is important — and, of course, they most specifically mean Elena!
