Will Smith’s Star-Studded ‘Collateral Beauty’ To Compete With ‘Rogue One’ This Holiday Season
Will Smith will make audiences cry this holiday season, according to Cinema Blend. The 47-year-old Men In Black actor stars in a star-studded Collateral Beauty and the first official trailer has just been released.

In the trailer, Will Smith is seen testing the domino effect theory and is struggling to continue living after losing his child. The Suicide Squad star plays a father who lost a child and begins writing letters, asking why the universe decided to play a sick joke on him.
Will Smith’s character, a New York City ad executive, addresses his letters to such broad concepts as Love, Time, and Death, and they begin to send him replies. The heart-wrenching drama is directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) and stars other A-list movie figures as Kate Winslet (Titanic), Edward Norton (Fight Club), and Michael Pena (Ant-Man).
And although waiting for Love and Death to reply is the same thing as waiting for Santa to make your dreams come true, Will Smith’s character manages to find answers to his questions.
Despite Will Smith being known as an actor who usually does all the onscreen work by himself (like in I Am Legend), he has been more of a team player in his more recent projects. Just like in Suicide Squad, Collateral Beauty he stars alongside several other big Hollywood stars.

In addition to Will Smith, Winslet, Norton, and Pena, the film also stars Helen Mirren (The Queen), Keira Knightley (Begin Again), and Naomie Harris (Skyfall). The film has holiday vibes all over it, which is why creators decided to schedule its release date a little more than a week before Christmas, on December 16.
Last month, Will Smith talked about Collateral Beauty in his interview with Entertainment Weekly, where he said the film would, in some ways, be a cross between It’s A Wonderful Life and The Wizard of Oz. And while many would say the drama has lots of clichés and funky details attached to it, this is the exact type of movie audiences seem to crave around the holidays.

But Will Smith’s Collateral Beauty has little chance of becoming the highest grossing film this holiday season as it’ll be released the same day as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is expected to gross at least $1 billion worldwide.

In other news, Will Smith has recently attended his wife’s mom wedding, according to E! Online. The Men In Black actor and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith showed up to at the wedding to support the couple.
Adrienne Banfield-Jones, the mother of Jada Pinkett Smith, finally decided to make her relationship with her beau official. And of course, she invited her daughter Jada and her son-in-law Will Smith to celebrate the occasion.
Adrienne opted for a fabulous white Berta gown, which she complemented with gorgeous details of beading and lace. Her husband looked in harmony with his wife, wearing a beige suit and a red tie.
Jada and Will Smith, meanwhile, also wore harmonious outfits, with the former wearing white and the latter complementing his wife with a heather gray suit.

Jada and Adrienne have always had an honest relationship with each other, as said in their joint interview with Redbook. In that interview, Adrienne said that although she is Jada’s mom, she doesn’t feel that she has the right to interfere in her private life with the Suicide Squad star Will Smith, adding that she respects that they grew up in different times.
“Her perspective on things often differs from mine: It’s old-school/new-school. I’ve learned to trust the decisions she makes for herself and her family, because they are excellent.”
