Drew Barrymore Gives Birth To Baby Girl, Olive
Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman welcomed their daughter, Olive, into the world last Wednesday. A statement released by the proud new parents indicates that both the Charlie’s Angels star and the baby are healthy and happy. In 1999, Barrymore was the voice of an animated character named Olive in a TV special entitled, Olive, the Other Reindeer, according to E! Online.
Kopelman and the actress exchanged vows on June 2, at her home in Montecito, California and then later honeymooned in Big Sur. Drew, 37, reportedly stayed very active right up until the final weeks of her pregnancy. She allegedly kept up with yoga practice and ran errands around town to prepare for the arrival of her baby girl.
The official release from the couple also expressed their gratitude for the privacy they were offered during what the new parents called, the most special time in their lives. The actress and her new husband were able to do something rare in the glitzy world of Hollywood, keep the details about the pregnancy and birthing plans a family affair.
Rumors that the She’s Just Not That Into You star was pregnant first surfaced after paparazzi spotted her leaving a physician’s office carrying what was believed to be a sonogram photo. Eager photogs also highlighted what appeared to be a baby bump in the Chanel bridal gown she donned earlier this summer, She Knows reports.
Before she knew she was pregnant, Barrymore noted during an interview on the Tonight Show that she definitely wanted to start a family this year.
The movie star had this to say about building a family:
“We’ll start with one. See how it goes and if we could be so blessed, that would be wonderful.”
Drew Barrymore most recently starred in Big Miracle, a romantic comedy with John Krasinski, Entertainment Weekly notes.
