‘Outlander’ Star Sam Heughan Gives Fans A Sneak Peek At Season 3
Season 3 of Outlander is still a ways off, but that doesn’t mean fans have to wait to see Sam Heughan back in action.
The Outlander star just shared a behind the scenes look at production for Season 3 and offered fans a first look at Jamie Fraser during the Battle of Culloden.
According to E! Online, the clip features Heughan on the Scottish battlefield brandishing a sword. The production team can be seen behind Heughan, who is welcoming everyone to the new season.
Season 2 ended with a lot of changes for Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe).
Not only did Claire time travel to the future and leave Jamie behind to fight, but she also presumed he met his end at Culloden.

Once Claire was back in her own decade, she reunited with Frank (Tobias Menzies) and became a mother to their new daughter, Brianna (Sophie Skelton).
Twenty years later, Brianna finally discovered that Jamie is her real father, while Claire learned that he survived the Battle of Culloden.
The season ended before fans saw what unfolded at Culloden. Fortunately, Season 3 will pick up with Jamie and reveal how he alluded death during the failed rebellion.
Show Biz Junkies reports that Jamie will have a rough time following the epic battle. Not only does he have to deal with the failure of the rebellion, but he also lost Claire.

While the two characters continue their lives centuries apart, they both experience a good share of trials.
For Jamie, this includes a good deal of time wandering around and finding himself doing a few stints in prison. Of course, Jamie finds a good friend in Lord John Grey during one of his stays in prison, and Claire eventually finds her way back to him.
In addition to the new clip, The Wrap is reporting that producers also released a photo of Heughan on the battlefield. The picture features a makeup artist applying blood to Heughan, who looks exhausted and bloody.

Meanwhile, Starz renewed Outlander for two more seasons. Season 3 is based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling novel Voyager, while Season 4 will be adapted from Gabaldon’s Drums of Autumn.
Aside from Heughan’s exciting video, producers recently announced that David Berry will play the coveted role of Lord John Grey in the coming season.
Lord John is an important character in the books and establishes a close friendship with Jamie throughout the Outlander series. In fact, Gabaldon loved Lord John so much that she even wrote a spin-off series for the character.
Speaking of Lord John, Heughan recently complimented Berry on Twitter.
“…#DavidBerry is SLAYING it btw…” Heughan wrote, clearly indicating that he and Berry are already doing scenes together.

According to International Business Times, Berry returned Heughan’s compliments with a timely post on Instagram.
“Awesome cast and crew,” he shared. “I feel so lucky to be a part of this. Thank you everyone for their well wishes.”
If the series sticks close to the books, then Heughan and Berry are going to have a lot of scenes together. Thankfully, it sounds like the two actors are starting off on the right foot, which should translate to a strong friendship on the show.
Of course, one of the things fans are most excited about is seeing Heughan aged 20 years.
The show already revealed an older Claire last season, but we’ve yet to see how Jamie will look 20 years down the road.
Unfortunately, it looks like producers are doing their best to keep that a secret until later down the road.
Starz has not announced an official premiere date for Season 3, though fans can expect Outlander to return to television sometime in early 2017.
