Zayn Malik’s stress is intense. The former One Direction singer has canceled his Dubai concert that was scheduled for October 7 due to severe anxiety. All tickets will be refunded, but Zayn’s battle with stress makes it very difficult for him to deal with some of the biggest venues.
One Direction’s Zayn Malik has been struggling with stress for a long time, and it is currently interfering with his career. Reuters reports Zayn’s statement regarding the cancellation.
“I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances I feel I am making progress. But I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October. I am truly sorry to disappoint you.”
Zayn Malik’s stress is a serious problem, and he may not be the only One Direction star to suffer from intense stress.

Niall Horan’s acid reflux worried fans when Horan posted a selfie photo hooked up to monitors this week. It seems Niall’s acid reflux is acting up again, and this time, it must be more serious. The Irish Mirror reports that Horan was in the hospital and could possibly require surgery, though it is hoped that his condition will respond to less drastic treatments. Stress can be a factor in acid reflux, not actually causing it but increasing it and making it more painful according to Healthline.
“Stress, coupled with exhaustion, may present even more body changes that lead to increased acid reflux. Regardless of what exactly happens in the brain and the body, those who suffer from acid reflux know that stress can make them feel uncomfortable, and treating lifestyle factors is important.”
Zayn Malik’s stress could have a similar origin. The former One Direction star can probably relate to what Niall is feeling. It is unclear if Malik has acid reflux, but he has reportedly complained of nausea in relation to his stress. Whether Niall Horan’s acid reflux is stress related or not, it seems telling that it would flare up right after he signed a recording contract. Niall has been playing golf and traveling around the world, but now it’s time to get back to the music business, and so Horan’s acid reflux is back with a vengeance.
Niall Horan’s acid reflux condition could be quite severe. Acid reflux varies in severity from minor indigestion to severe indigestion occasionally, to a more painful and even voice-damaging variety. One Direction gave a lot to fans, and a lot was sacrificed in terms of energy, stress, exhaustion, and time. The 1D boys gave their all, in concert after concert, for five years. They had a tough schedule of travel and night after night shows. That kind of life, living out of a tour bus, eating and sleeping when they had time, and struggling with nerves, even back then, may have added up to stress related illnesses now.
