Bethenny Frankel’s Mom To See Bryn: Bethenny Is Skeptical Of Her Mother Bernadette Birk
Bethenny Frankel may have been very busy during the Real Housewives of New York reunion, as she spent the majority of the time defending her own relationship and being critical of her co-star, Luann de Lesseps. But Frankel did have some personal moments, where she opened up about her daughter, Bryn, and her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy. When they filmed the reunion special, Bethenny had finally settled her divorce from Jason after four years, according to People magazine. And her daughter was starting to ask her questions about her own mother.
During the reunion, Bethenny Frankel’s mom came up as Bethenny revealed that Bryn had asked her about her parents. Maybe she realized that she didn’t have grandparents on her mother’s side and inquired about it. Bethenny lost her father while filming The Real Housewives of New York years ago, but her mother remains alive. However, Bethenny Frankel’s mom hasn’t spoken to her daughter in years.

When Frankel learned that her daughter wanted to meet her grandmother, Bernadette Birk, Bethenny felt it was time to confront her mother. She told Andy Cohen that she reached out to her mother and they had plans to meet. According to Daily Mail, Bethenny Frankel had previously opened up about her daughter’s questions.
“My daughter said, “Mommy, are your parents alive?” I said, “My daddy’s not alive and my mommy is alive.” She said, ‘I want to meet your mommy,'” Bethenny Frankel had previously revealed, sharing her anxiety about the meet-up, adding, “I thought, ‘Oh God, I’ve got to reach out to her.'”

Sadly, the meeting hasn’t happened yet and Birk recently revealed that she may not see the day where she meets her granddaughter. It sounds like she may hold a grudge against Frankel, as it was Bryn who wanted to reach out, not Bethenny herself.

“Well, I just said hello. I don’t know the child. I’ve never seen her, so it was a very short little conversation. I asked her about her school and her age and just simple little questions. I didn’t really speak to the mother that much,” Bethenny Frankel’s mom has revealed about the short phone conversation she had with her own daughter, adding that she has never seen Bryn before.
It’s no secret that Frankel is very skeptical of her mother. When she was filming The Real Housewives of New York and coming up with the skinny girl’s margarita, her mother claimed that she was the original creator of the drink. It was possibly her way of getting some money, but Frankel has also said things about her mother, including sharing scenes from a troubled childhood.

“I buried that with her comments many years ago,” Bethenny Frankel’s mom explained in the interview, adding, “It took me a long time to get over those lies and I have no feelings for her at all.”
It makes sense that Bethenny is skeptical about bringing her daughter Bryn around her own mother given their past. Hopefully, they can get along and be civil for the sake of Bryn.
