Bethenny Frankel Mom Role: Is Bethenny Protective On ‘RHONY’ Due To Bryn?

Bethenny Frankel’s mom role may have gone out the door this week on The Real Housewives of New York. Frankel admits that things may have gotten a bit rocky on this week’s reunion special for The Real Housewives of New York. Frankel was attacked for supposedly dating a married man, even though she argues that Dennis Shields was indeed legally separated – like herself – before they started dating.

To prove her point, Bethenny picked up her cell phone and called Dennis’ daughter to make sure that the story was straight and true. As it turns out, this wasn’t planned at all. Bethenny had no idea what Dennis’ daughter may say to her.

According to a new Bravo report, Bethenny Frankel completely lost her cool during the reunion and one can imagine that she doesn’t want her daughter Bryn to see her act out on television. Bryn has already been kept away from the Real Housewives of New York franchise, as Bethenny isn’t allowed to share her life with her daughter on the show thanks to her ex-husband.

While one can imagine that Frankel doesn’t want her daughter to think that her mom is dating married men, Bethenny admits that she did lose her cool on the reunion. This Wednesday, she stopped by Andy Cohen’s set in New York to talk about what had happened.

“Inside, I’m thinking, ‘Oh my God, this is gonna go through a whole question mark news cycle, and I have to shut this down. What am I going to do?'” Bethenny Frankel revealed to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live this week, adding, “And it could have gone wrong. [My boyfriend’s daughter] could have said, ‘I don’t feel like talking about this.’ She could’ve said anything because I was not gonna let that despicable human being take me down, question my character. I do not lie.”

Frankel is often very vocal about what she will accept. She clearly doesn’t like it when people talk about her business and her daughter. She’s the mom to both Bryn and essentially her company, so she’s very protective of what is said and implied about both. While Bethenny Frankel has struggled in relationships, it sounds like she doesn’t mind the negative feedback in that regard.

“Listen, I got muddy and bloody this season. Several people did come for my business. I’m very confident in my business, but by the same token, I started from the bottom and now I’m here, and if someone comes for me, I’m gonna go back at you,” Bethenny told Andy, adding about her co-star, Luann de Lesseps, “I said to Andy, if I didn’t have a business, I would have grabbed Luann by the throat. You thought I was going for her. I wouldn’t have minded strangling her. Might’ve enjoyed it.”

It sounds like Frankel has no remorse for the way things played out this season, even though she called Luann several names for her sex life. And while de Lesseps didn’t say anything on her social media as Bethenny was bashing her on television, Jules Wainstein had a few words for the mom and business mogul.

“You have no moral authority! No matter where or whether I have a penny to my name I celebrate Shabbat!” Jules Wainstein tweeted during the Real Housewives of New York on Wednesday, clearly slamming the way Bethenny was talking about her on the show.
