Arsenal Vs. Southamption 2016 Premier League: Preview, Predictions, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips, And Live Streaming
Arsenal will host Southampton in the Premier League as both teams need a win to steady their turbulent start to the 2016/17 season.
Arsene Wenger’s team are currently placed eighth in the league, having four points from three games, whereas Southampton are seven places behind Arsenal. With only two points out of possible nine, Southampton need to win in order to avoid being in the relegation zone, although it matters little at this stage of the season.

Arsenal: Team News
Arsenal have made underwhelming start to 2016/17 season, winning only one game out of three. However, the positive thing for the Gunners is that they played breathtaking football against Watford in their last game. During the game, Watford were out of the contest after Arsenal hit them three goals in the first half. Goals from Santi Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez, and Mesut Ozil ensured the London club will return with the all three points from Vicarage Road. However, Laurent Koscielny and Co. could not keep a clean sheet, which they would love to have.

In other positive news for Arsenal, young striker Alex Iwobi has returned to full fitness, and he is in contention to make the squad against Southampton. But it will be interesting to see whether the manager will drop Theo Walcott in favor of this prodigious talent.

New summer signings Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez are fit and ready to start the game after a week at the club. Mustafi is expected to partner with Laurent Koscielny at the heart of the defense, while Lucas Perez is likely to settle for a place on the bench, with French striker Oliver Giroud favorite to start.
Arsenal: Predicted Line-Up
Cech; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Xhaka, Cazorla; Walcott, Ozil, Sanchez; Giroud
Southampton: Team News
Jay Rodriguez’s late goal in the last game, against Sunderland, spared blushes for Southampton, as they were close to losing the game at home. Jermain Defoe had scored minutes earlier for Sunderland, but Southampton grabbed a late equalizer to earn a point.
Southampton are winless in the Premier League since their former manager Ronald Koeman left for Everton. The club appointed Claude Puel, but he has been unable to give them a victory so far. If they lose the game against Arsenal, the whole of the English media is likely to scrutinize the Frenchman.
New signings Nathan Redmond (Norwich City) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Bayern Munich) have already made their debut for Southampton, and they should start in the game against the Gunners.
Among the good news for the Saints is that Arsenal have failed to score against them in the last three games. Furthermore, Southampton have only lost one game in recent five matches against Arsene Wenger’s men.
Southampton: Predicted Line-Up (4-1-2-1-2)
Forster; Soares, Fonte, van Dijk, Targett; Romeu; Hojbjerg, Davis; Tadic; Redmond, Austin
Arsenal vs. Southampton: Head-to-Head
In the English Premier League matches, Arsenal have beaten Southampton in 38 games, whereas the Saints have won 18 against the Londoners. The remaining 22 games have ended in a stalemate.
Arsenal vs. Southampton: Betting Tips and Odds
- Arsenal win: 4/7
- A draw: 3/1
- Southampton win: 5/1
- Both teams to score: 8/11
- Both teams fail to score: evens
Southampton have not kept any clean sheets this season. Arsenal have just one, in the draw against Leicester. It is very likely both teams will score. Emirates Stadium usually witnesses lots of goals, so it is advised not to place any bets on a scoreless draw. Alexis Sanches opened his account for goals in the last game, and he is likely to add another against the Saints. He is backed to be the first goalscorer at a healthy 4/1 and at evens to score during the game.
