Grigor Dimitrov Loses As Girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger Declares Love, US Open 2016 Defeat To Andy Murray Echoes Wimbledon And Olympics
Grigor Dimitrov has been faltering in his tennis career, but it sounds like his romance with girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger is going great! He performed his best at US Open 2016 this year, advancing to the fourth round of the tournament, but lost to Andy Murray in a spectacular fashion.
His wounds got soothed when his girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger declared love for him publicly. At least one aspect of his life is going well!
The 25-year-old Bulgarian player lost to Andy Murray in just three sets (6-1, 6-2, 6-2), rather an embarrassing score for someone who used to be part of world’s top ten tennis celebrities.
An unlucky ball boy at the US Open felt the full wrath of Grigor Dimitrov’s powerful serve after he was struck in the groin during his third round match against Joao Sousa at the weekend.
“Dimitrov botched the simplest of smashes to drop serve in the fourth game, and Murray hit the accelerator,” reports the Guardian. “His serve, which went missing for two sets against Lorenzi, clicked to pleasing effect, and there was little his opponent could do to get back into the contest.”
In fact, Andy Murray was so dominant in the game that the commentators were in awe of his performance against the Bulgarian.
“This has been such a blowout, the sky is crying,” John McEnroe, a tennis legend, exclaimed.
Sadly enough, this is the best that Grigor Dimitrov has played in ages, Getting into the fourth round of US Open 2016 was a significant improvement from Wimbledon and Olympics, which he did not get past the first couple of rounds.
But that doesn’t mean that he didn’t leave his mark at this year’s US Open. He definitely made a moment for a ballboy when he served right into his crotch.
“During Dimitrov’s prior match against Sousa, he fired a 123mph serve that bounced a long way outside the service box,” reports the Guardian. “While a normal serve would have seen the ball rise towards Sousa’s midriff, the extra distance meant that the ball boy was suddenly in a spot of bother.”
That is sure to be a memorable event for the ballboy.
Now that his US Open 2016 dreams are dashed, the 25-year-old player can concentrate on other things … like his girlfriend. He has only been with Nicole Scherzinger for about a year, but they have progressed very quickly.
“The 38-year-old singer has been dating the 25-year-old tennis player since July 2015, following his split from Maria Sharapova and says that she is head over heels for Grigor,” reports Mirror UK.
When an interviewer asked if she is in love, she answered, “Yeah, I hope so.”
“I’m a very loving person,” she continued. “We’ve been together for quite some time now, so I’m just living in the moment and I’m happy. It’s good for girls to be with nice guys. Respect the nice ones — they can win! He’s so damn cute.”
The first time that Grigor Dimitrov and Nicole Scherzinger were spotted together was during Australian Open season when they were seen strolling in Brisbane very publicly. He had just broken things off with Maria Sharapova, so it was a surprise for the fans to see him rebound so quickly.
Since then, they have made various international cities their dating spot. The last time that they were seen together was in London when they went out for a date on West End.

They also have been walking hand-in-hand in Paris as well, right after his defeat in French Open.
“They have been plagued with split rumours in recent months,” reports Daily Mail. “Yet Nicole Scherzinger and Grigor Dimitrov truly silenced their critics as they put on an extremely cosy display during a trip to Paris on Sunday. The 37-year-old former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman jetted to the French capital to watch her beau, 25, play in the French Open Roland Garros — a match he sadly lost.”
