Rappers Young Jeezy and Rick Ross reportedly had a handful of ugly words to say to one another at the BET Awards on Saturday night, according to The Hollywood Gossip . In fact, things got so heated in the parking lot after the event that shots were reportedly fired. After all, nothing says violence and hatred quite like giving people awards.
After crossing paths at the BET Awards ceremony on Saturday evening, rappers Rick Ross and Young Jeezy began entwined in a verbal altercation. As their wordy exchange became more heated, a fight soon broke out, requiring the assistance of both BET security and the rappers’ respective bodyguards. Before long, the scuffle soon spilled into the parking lot, where it allegedly took a turn for the worse.
A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department had this to say about this incident:
“Shortly after 7:15 pm Saturday, a fight broke out in the parking lot at the Atlanta Civic Center (where the BET Awards were being taped) between two groups. Atlanta Police Department officers on scene responded to break up the fight and used OC spray in the process. Individuals fled the scene. There were no arrests or reports of serious injuries. Reports of shots fired appear to be untrue.”
Although the official word is that shots did not take place, TMZ is reportedly sticking behind their story. According to the website, several shots did, in fact, take place in the parking lot during the fight between Young Jeezy and Rick Ross.
To make matters worse, TMZ explains that rapper 50 Cent locked horns with Rick Ross protege Gunplay. It seems like everybody wanted to throw a punch or two at this year’s BET Awards.
However, despite all of the reports about the scuffle between Young Jeezy and Rick Ross, nobody knows why, precisely, the two decided to square off against one another at the awards ceremony.
