Win Coffee With Ivanka Trump For $0: Donald Trump’s Website Offers Chance To Meet Daughter
The new page on Donald Trump’s website is called “Meet Me for Coffee,” and it has a large photo of Ivanka Trump. It also has conflicting messages about what it takes to get said coffee with Ivanka. Initially, one might assume it takes at least a $3 contribution to the Trump campaign to meet Ivanka; at least according to the wording on the new page on Trump’s site.
“I’d love to treat you to coffee here at campaign headquarters at Trump Tower. With a campaign contribution of $3, you will automatically be entered to win a chance for a coffee break with me here in New York City.”
The Meet Me for Coffee – Trump Make America Great Again Committee page doesn’t promise that everyone who shells out $3 will meet Ivanka, but it notes that those who want “Coffee With Ivanka Trump” can also contribute nothing to potentially win the chance to meet Ivanka.
Scrolling farther down the page reveals that folks can enter the contest to meet Ivanka without donating a dime to Trump’s campaign by using the page.
That link leads folks to a page that shows a photo of a waving Ivanka and asks for the person’s full name, their email address, and their zip code.
As seen in the above photo from March 16, Trump Tower in New York is a pretty imposing and impressive structure. According to the Trump Organization, the building rises 68 stories into the skies above New York.“In our busy lives, it’s important to take a moment to unwind and catch up with friends over a cup of coffee or tea. I’d love to treat you to coffee here at campaign headquarters at Trump Tower. Add your name below to be automatically be entered to win a chance for a coffee break with me here in New York City.”
However, as reported by the Associated Press, even that claim comes with controversy. The AP states that New York City records and outside organizations peg Trump Tower at 58 stories, which would shave a good 10 stories off of the claims of the height of Trump Tower.
Like basketball players who are often listed in athletic stats as taller than they are in real life, developers often perform the same feat with their buildings in order to market them as more impressive structures.
Meanwhile, the Trump website notes that contributing to the “Coffee with Ivanka” contest won’t improve a person’s chances of winning coffee with Ivanka.
The contest page also details how long the contest will run, along with the fact that the winner and a guest will receive airfare (no word if that flight is via Trump’s plane), as well as a hotel stay for one night only.
“Entries must be received between September 5, 2016 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time and September 20, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. One (1) winner will receive the following Prize: Round trip airfare for the winner and the winner’s guest to and from Destination, hotel accommodations for one (1) night, ground transportation at Sponsor’s discretion, and coffee with Ivanka Trump (approximate retail value $1,900).”
As expected, the Trump website makes sure to note that the contest offering coffee with Ivanka is only available to lawful and valid U.S. citizens, or green card holders in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.
There’s no word on whether it will be a cup of Starbuck’s coffee or another brand that the winner will sip with Ivanka, who can be seen in the above photo on the third day of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland with her dad.[Photo by Carolyn Kaster/AP Images]
