One Direction and 5SOS have a lot of common. Both bands have been producing music for over five years, and they both have a young, mostly female audience. Both bands know what it is like to travel nonstop out of a tour bus for most months of the year. They know what it is like to get cornered by the paparazzi, and they can all relate to being swarmed by teen girls. Comparing the bands and seeing the times their paths crossed is really fun.

5SOS has been a band for nearly as long, getting their start in early 2011. While 1D was discovered by Simon Cowell and took off immediately on the fast track to fame, 5SOS got their start in Sydney and grew in fame, mostly from making YouTube videos. One Direction songs are all about pop music vocals, designed to be suitable for a young audience. Even though several members play guitars, keyboards and etc., they leave all the background music to a backup band and concentrate on their smooth vocals. They are a creation of Simon Cowell, and his vision for them has dominated their careers and boosted them to super stardom.
Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan had never met until they were placed together as a result of the show X Factor. Zayn Malik left the band in 2015 due to artistic differences. He stated recently that he might be open to a reunion.
Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, and Calum Hood attended Northwest Christian College together and started filming their music on YouTube on February 3, 2011. They were joined by Ashton Irwin in December of 2011.

Louis Tomlinson has a son with Briana Jungwirth and is dating Danielle Campbell. Briana has also been harassed by fans on several occasions.
Zayn Malik is serious about Gigi Hadid. Although Gigi is a gorgeous Victoria Secret model, the thing Zayn says he loves most about her is her mind.

Luke Hemmings is very serious about Arzaylea, and she seems to adore him as well, but fans harass her on social media all the time.
Ashton Irwin broke up with Bryana Holly two months ago, but they could get back together. Bryana and Ashton have been together on and off for quite some time, according to Inquisitr. Bryana is a swimsuit model.
Michael Clifford hangs out with Crystal Leigh a lot, but they do not comment on their relationship
Calum Hood? There is speculation he is dating Nia Lovelis, but that is completely unconfirmed.
