Blake Shelton And Miranda Lambert Snubbed Each Other At ACMs? Both Performed But Never Interacted
It’s been over a year since Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert got divorced, but it seems that the former husband and wife are still bitter over their breakup. The two have moved on with their new lovers Gwen Stefani and Anderson East. However, they still hinted bitterness about their failed marriage, which could mean that they may still be hurting.
During the recent ACM Awards, the 40-year-old country superstar and the 32-year-old songstress snubbed each other by avoiding an awkward run-in. According to Us, the star-studded event was held at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville where the audience need to slide out of their seats to let one person pass. Thus, there is a chance that the two would interact if seated on the same row.
Unfortunately, Shelton didn’t have an audience seat. He was backstage while his ex-wife was performing on stage. By the time he was about to perform, Lambert had already left the venue. The two also didn’t walk the red carpet and their respective partners, Stefani and East, weren’t at the event either.
“Blake and Miranda didn’t request to be far away from each other, but they never interacted,” an insider said.“Everyone at the ACMs knew they wouldn’t want to cross paths,” another source added.
Maybe the two already anticipated the setup of the venue and the performance line-up, that’s why they were able to plan their actions during the ACM Honors. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have won a couple of awards at the ACMs over the years, including “Song of the Year” in 2013. Watch their adorable acceptance speech below.
That winning moment must be difficult to forget, that’s why the former husband and wife probably decided to avoid seeing each other at the ACMs. Shelton and Lambert could also be avoiding rumors, since both are now happy in their new relationships. The Voice coach is even reportedly planning his wedding with his girlfriend already.
According to HollywoodLife.com, there is still no definite date for Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s wedding, but they are always discussing what their wedding will be like. The two will reportedly write their own vows and are even collaborating on a love song that they will perform at their wedding.
“They’re planning a December wedding at Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma,” an insider said. “Gwen and the boys [Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo] love it there and it will give them a lot of privacy.”
Miranda Lambert, on the other hand, also seems deeply in love with Anderson East. The “Over You” hitmaker asked her boyfriend to join her on stage at one of the concerts. Inquisitr shared a video of their adorable PDA while performing together with other country artists. She was caught kissing her man and holding his hands.
Even if the exes have moved on, there still seems to be bad blood between them. During an interview with Billboard, Shelton hinted that Lambert cheated on him. His song “She’s Got A Way With Words” was about a lover who lied and cheated. He admitted that he wasn’t the one who wrote the song, but he also won’t stop people from assuming that some of the lines from his song were about his relationship.“When we recorded the vocals for some of these songs, I was only six months removed from when all the crap went down,” Blake confessed. “When you have a broken heart — at least, when I do — you got to get it out of your system. You want people to sympathize with you. I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell.”
Miranda Lambert retaliated by exposing what happened in her life, including her failed marriage to Blake Shelton during an interview with Billboard. She confessed that she’s nervous about her new song “Vice” and hopes that people will respect and understand her.“I’m pretty straightforward in my music. I always have been, and that hasn’t changed,” she explained. “With my songwriting, it’s taking a journey with what’s been going on in my everyday life — good, bad, ugly and everything in between. I feel like the right thing to do was just come out with something really honest.”
