Youngji Reveals On ‘Happy Together’ Juicy Details On Set Of Popular K-Drama ‘Another Oh Hae Young’ When She Played Yoon Ahn Na
So far, 2016 has been a roller-coaster ride for Heo Young Ji, who is better known simply as Youngji. Earlier this year, Youngji received the unfortunate news of being the last member of Kara after its other three members — Park Gyu Ri (Gyuri), Han Seung Yeon (Seungyeon), and Goo Hara (Hara) — decided not to renew their contracts with DSP Media. As a result, the K-pop girl group Kara officially disbanded after nine years.
Though Youngji had every reason to be depressed, she kept her head held high and kept a positive attitude that she would do well as a soloist from that point forward. At this moment however, we have not heard anything from Youngji pertaining to her solo career, but she did hit it big in acting for playing the role of Yoon Ahn Na in the popular Total Variety Network (tvN) K-drama Another Oh Hae Young.
Though Youngji revealed much behind-the-scenes antics happening during the Another Oh Hae Young (also known as Oh Hae Young Again) filming, there are two that really stand out. The first has to do with her intimate kiss scene with Heo Jung Min. In the K-drama, Jung Min plays Park Hoon, the step-brother of Park Do Kyung (Eric Mun). Throughout the series, his relationship with Ahn Na is touched upon as being wild and crazy. In the second episode, Hoon and Ahn Na have an intense makeout session. Despite the scene being comedic, it should be noted that Heo Jung Min and Youngji were really getting into their parts. As a matter of fact, the kiss scene could have passed as being one of the steamiest in K-dramas this year. Unfortunately, said scene was seen by Youngji’s father who was “traumatized” by it, as reported by AllKpop.
“After seeing the kiss scene, my dad was traumatized and left the family group messaging room. For no reason, I felt sorry towards my father. It was my first kiss scene, so I did it diligently. I reinvited him, but he said nothing.”
Talking about how her father felt about the kiss scene might have caused some slight feelings of discomfort. Ergo, Youngji quickly changed the direction of the kiss scene to a more comedic direction when she revealed that after the kiss scene, the director and Heo Jung Min did a high five. Jung Min of course was shocked and made sure to explain his side of the situation.
“She’s young and a whole Zodiac generation younger than I am (twelve years), so I had felt greatly burdened. So I thought to myself I would wrap up the scene in one-go, and I did that. The director thought it was a relief it ended in one take, and I was likewise relieved, so we high-fived.”
Apparently, the time Heo Jung Min spent with Youngji had an effect on him. During a staff dinner, a Jung Min in a drunken stupor stands up in front of everyone and confesses that he likes Youngji, as reported by Soompi. Jung Min tried to explain why he would be perfect for Youngji going as far as letting everyone know that he has “money saved up” in the total of 30 million won (about $26,900 USD). Though everyone else at the staff dinner, especially Eric Mun, told Youngji to say yes to him, Heo Jung Min was rejected.
“I said, ‘I don’t want to,’ and [Huh Jung Min] said he’ll act as if he forgot tomorrow.”
The juicy details of crazy antics happening on set of Another Oh Hae Young shows just how comfortable the cast and crew were together in that it was kind of like a family. Maybe that’s why Another Oh Hae Young was so popular.
