‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8: Will Alaric Find Love? Executive Producer Julie Plec Responds [Spoilers]

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 is coming up quickly. So far, fans have heard a lot of details about Damon, Enzo, Stefan, Caroline, and Bonnie. However, what about Alaric, portrayed by Matt Davis? What is going to happen with his character? Will he find love again? Executive producer Julie Plec was asked the romance question and she responded.

When The Vampire Diaries Season 8 premieres, there is going to be more to focus on than Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) predicament. It will begin with a steamy love scene between Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Caroline Forbes (Candice King). Given the nickname “Steroline,” these are not the only characters that may have romance in the final season. TV Line asked executive producer Julie Plec about Alaric’s love life and she gave a hopeful answer.

“Alaric hasn’t had the best luck with women. I don’t know if he should be jumping into anything anytime soon, but if he does, the hot nanny would certainly be viable.”

TVD fans have been speculating for the past few weeks that Alaric and Seline (Kristin Gutoskie) could develop a relationship. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Seline will be taking care of the two children during the day. However, she isn’t blind to the dark things that go on at night. This was a big clue that Selina knows a thing or two about the supernatural. Whether she is a creature herself or experienced something is not known at this time. However, it will be interesting to find out.

Other spoilers for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 include Stefan and Caroline having to deal with another woman. TV Guide reported that a female creature has her eyes on Stefan Salvatore. She usually gets what she wants, but this individual has never met Caroline on a bad day. There is no way Candice King’s character will allow someone else to take the man she loves, especially when “Steroline” just reconciled.

It was revealed that Damon and Enzo will try to fight the creature that has taken over their bodies. The entity, which many believe is Sybil, forces the vampires to do horrible things. Plec teased to Entertainment Weekly that Damon and Enzo will perform “gruesome executions.” With more than 60 people missing along the West coast, this is not a good sign. Why is the monster having the vampires kill people? It turns out that it has opinions on what should happen to those who do bad things.

Ian Somerhalder teased that in The Vampire Diaries Season 8, fans will see a lot of conflict with his character. Damon is still in there somewhere, but the creature has control. Will he be able to fight his way to freedom, will his friends save him, or will it be too much for the vampire to take?

As for Enzo, he is in the same position as Damon Salvatore. It was teased that he will be leaving bread crumbs for Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) to follow. Enzo wants her to be able to find him, but will it put her in danger? Fans will have to wait to find out.

The CW network will air The Vampire Diaries Season 8 premiere on October 21.
