Chris Harrison Reveals Why Nick Viall Was Chosen For ‘The Bachelor’ 2017
Last night on After Paradise, they shared the big news that Nick Viall will be the next guy on The Bachelor 2017. This was a pretty shocking decision considering that everyone thought it would be Chase McNary or Luke Pell. People shared that host Chris Harrison is now speaking out and revealing why they chose Nick as the guy to be handing out roses. Nick was runner-up on both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s seasons of The Bachelorette.
Chris Harrison wasn’t shy about what is going on, and it is pretty obvious that he is okay with the decision that they made. Chris spoke out and shared his thoughts.
“He has just become that perennial, second place guy who wants to find love and is as sincere, if not more sincere, than anybody about finding it. It’s about giving him his chance to find love. Who deserves it more than him?”
As Chris Harrison pointed out, fans want to see Nick find love, and the show has helped him in the past. He was in love with both Andi and Kaitlyn, but they just didn’t choose him in the end. Chris Harrison explained that one thing that was in Viall’s way during his season with Andi Dorfman and also on Bachelor in Paradise was Josh Murray.
Chris went on to explain why it should work this time, saying, “The main reason it’ll work this time is Josh won’t be there. There are plenty of women out there that find him adorable and lovable and irresistible. I have no doubt that he will find the woman of his dreams.”

Nick Viall may not seem like the obvious choice, but fans had mixed feelings about everyone they were talking about just like they do every season. Chris Harrison explained that Nick just seemed like the obvious choice.
Harrison went on to say why they picked him.
“So many names get thrown around and at the end of the day, as producers, we have to try and think and decide what’s best for the franchise and who is the most deserving and sincere person. At the end of the day, we all looked around the table and nobody could say it wasn’t Nick. You can’t shoot holes at the fact that he is just the most deserving and sincere person.”
Chris Harrison added that they didn’t pick Viall because he was begging to get the job or even campaigning saying they should pick him. It really just seemed like he was the perfect one to do the job. Nick has a lot of fans who were hopeful he would be the one they picked.

ET Online shared a bit more about what Chris Harrison had to say about this decision. Chris feels like he is the one who is most deserving of the job. He thinks that Viall being the only one is really going to help his odds this time around. It does look like things might actually work out for him this time around.
Chris Harrison admits that a lot of people have strong feelings about their choice, but it shows how much they care about the show. A few fans had teased that they thought Chris Harrison should get the job, but it doesn’t look like he is ready to take on that role. Maybe someday he will change his mind.
