Whether They’re Back Together Or Not, Avril Lavigne Still Doesn’t Want People Trashing Chad Kroeger’s Nickleback
Avril Lavigne doesn’t like it when people trash her husband Chad Kroeger’s band, according to Billboard. The ’90s pop star says the press and public cracking jokes about Nickelback‘s “bad” music should “grow up.”
When people name things they hate the most in the world, the name of Chad Kroeger’s Canadian rock band often comes up. But Avril Lavigne doesn’t agree with the sentiment and is disappointed that people say they hate Nickelback while most of them haven’t even heard the band’s music.
Avril Lavigne took to Twitter to slam E! Online‘s recent story titled “People Actually Dislike One Thing More Than Nickelback,” in which it said Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump receives far more hate than the Canadian group.
Hey @ENews and everyone writing these articles…. grow up. https://t.co/KShskEcIFM this is extremely rude and uncalled for

In her tweet, Avril Lavigne told the press and anyone else telling similar jokes to “grow up.” Lavigne and Kroeger split up in September last year, but the duo have recently been spotted together on several occasions, which suggests that they may have rekindled their romance, or at the least they have remained good friends.
In a series of tweets, Avril Lavigne praised Nickelback’s successes, saying that the rock band has had 17 singles that held the No. 1 spot on Billboard. But the Canadian rock band has actually had 25 No. 1 hits on Billboard‘s U.S. and Canadian singles and album charts.
Nickelback has had nine of its album get into the Billboard 200 over the years of its career. Six of those nine albums have hit the Top 10 of the chart, including the No. 1 spot for 2005’s “All the Right Reasons.”

And so it appears confusing for Avril Lavigne why so many people hate Nickleback. The 31-year-old pop star, who married Kroeger in 2013, says those silly jokes contradict the reality. The rock band has reportedly sold 24 million albums in the United States alone.
Avril Lavigne’s attack against Nickleback haters comes five years after the rock band was defending its music against haters and claiming they had sold more than 50 million albums worldwide at the time.
Avril Lavigne has recently reignited rumors that she and her husband Chad Kroeger have settled their difference and are back together, according to the Daily Mail. The “Hello Kitty” singer posted a photo of them getting cozy at the airport.
Avril Lavigne and Kroeger went separate ways in September 2015, but it appears that it took them less than a year to realize that they want to be together. Over the past year, there have been a number of rumors revolving around Lavigne and Kroeger dating other people.

But Avril Lavigne and her 41-year-old superstar husband appear to be together now, and Lavigne has just confirmed it via her Instagram account. The 31-year-old pop star took to Instagram to share a snap of them flying on a small private jet together. Avril Lavigne and Kroeger posed for the photo hand in hand, which prompted their fans to hope the two are giving their romance a second chance. The photo was posted several days before the Juno awards ceremony is held in Canada, however the photos appear to have since been removed.
Nickelback, Kroeger’s rock band, is nominated for Rock Album of The Year awards at this year’s Juno awards, which is often referred to as Canada’s Grammy Awards. In the caption, Avril Lavigne revealed she was going to support her husband and his band at the ceremony.

“Heading to our homeland CANADA to the Juno Awards to support @nickelback on their nomination for Rock Album Of The Year.”
Avril Lavigne also got nostalgic and posted a video of when she won her first Juno award back in 2003 when the singer was enjoying the peak of her popularity. That year, her future husband, Kroeger presented the then 18-year-old pop star with the award.
