Ariana Grande Boyfriend News: Is Singer’s Romance With Mac Miller Because Of ‘Into You’ Remix?
It hasn’t yet been confirmed whether or not Mac Miller is Ariana Grande’s boyfriend, but the two appear to be having a good time in front of the cameras lately.
After they were spotted having a cuddly, kiss-filled dinner recently, rumors began to swirl that the “Dangerous Woman” songstress and the rapper had upgraded their relationship to full-fledged couple.
They have a past together, as Arianators already know. The two musicians collaborated on one of Ariana Grande’s first singles, “The Way,” when her music career was just beginning. They shared a surprising kiss at the end of the video, but Grande quickly squashed rumors back then, insisting that Miller is one of her best friends and nothing more.
The tweet below puts their video kiss side-by-side with the real one during dinner that made headlines earlier this week.
Ahead of her VMAs performance tomorrow night with Nicki Minaj, Grande is already in NYC and Mac Miller has been spotted right by her side, according to People magazine. The duo each got a new tattoo on Thursday, visited the Museum of Ice Cream with some friends on August 26, and then hit up a club in the city later that night.
This isn’t exactly random, since Grande and Miller have been friends for years, but it’s an interesting development since the 23-year-old just split from her last boyfriend, backup dancer Ricky Alvarez, a few weeks ago. The breakup was low-key, as was the entire relationship.
According to Entertainment Tonight Online, Grande deleted all pictures of herself and Alvarez from her Instagram page before posting the following cryptic tweet.
Ariana Grande’s boyfriend history includes a couple of fellow musicians, and they’ve all been linked to collaborations.
She dated singer Nathan Sykes, who was a member of boyband The Wanted, in 2013 for several months. They released a duet, “Almost Is Never Enough,” during the same period. In fact, they still work together once in awhile; most recently, she did another duet with him for his song “Over and Over Again.”
“The fact that we know each other, it makes it a lot easier. We’re friends and that is exactly what it is,” Sykes told Huffington Post about their friendship.
Grande then began dating rapper Big Sean after making her collaboration with him, “Right There,” into a single. He’s also worked on her hit single “Problem.”
On her highly-public breakup with the Detroit native, Ariana Grande told V Magazine last year that their friendship was strong enough that it was an amicable split.
“I’m good at making the best out of something. It also wasn’t that hard for me, because we were friends. So it’s chill,” she said.
Now, Mac Miller is back on the scene a few days after a remix of Grande’s latest single, “Into You,” debuted featuring the rapper. The song is converted into a sultry slow jam with an electronic edge, and Mac Miller drops a vivid verse to go with its forbidden romance subject matter.
“You could pull me in / You could push me / And we can go for a ride / In the sky / Lookin’ up / You a high / You ain’t never gotta lie ’cause it’s more than just p—-y / I just wanna get into you / Right here in the living room,” he raps.
Is this song a reflection of their real-life relationship or is this a well-timed publicity stunt? We may never know.
In the mean time, regarding if he’s Grande’s boyfriend or not, the music they make together is always above reproach.
Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj are scheduled to perform their collaboration “Side to Side” on August 28 on the MTV VMAs, starting at 9 p.m. EST.
