JonBenet Ramsey Investigation And New Theories To Dominate Fall TV [VIDEO]

With the 20th anniversary of one of America’s most notorious unsolved crimes, there will now be four shows of the JonBenet Ramsey crime and investigation that left a child beauty queen, JonBenet Ramsey dead in the basement of the Ramsey family’s Colorado home. The trailer for The Case of JonBenet Ramsey on CBS shows a true documentary of what went wrong, and what new leads and fresh eyes can do in such a tragic case. But in the same vein as the resurgence of the OJ Simpson case, after twenty years, the public will once again be talking about JonBenet.

Dr. Phil will be launching the long, strange trip back in time when Burke Ramsey, the older brother of JonBenet Ramsey (son of John Bennett and Patsy Ramsey), is interviewed for the first time to answer the questions of what he recalls from the night that JonBenet went missing, and then was found dead in the Ramsey basement, according to the Inquisitr. In an interview series, Dr. Phil asks Burke Ramsey what the time was like through the eyes of a child, and the devastation of becoming a person of interest in the death of your younger sister, all while Burke was still a child himself.

Forbes says that while there will be shows that share fresh information into the JonBenet Ramsey investigation, viewers will likely have to wade through shows that seems to be “shallow ratings grabs.” So far, CBS, A&E, and Investigation Discovery (ID) have shows on JonBenet Ramsey scheduled, and now Lifetime has announced a dramatized series on the JonBenet murder, though it does not yet have an air date.

The Lifetime movie Who Killed JonBenet? will be scripted, and tell the story of JonBenet Ramsey, who was reported missing at Christmas time from her Boulder home, complete with ransom note, but later was found duct taped and dead in the family basement. It seems that the Lifetime series is just going to rehash the story that the public knows, but dramatize it, and perhaps bring in others who were not following the news twenty years ago. After the success and new conversation started by the OJ movies, it seems the networks don’t want to be seen as missing out on an old crime is new viewing trend.

But Vanity Fair is saying that the CBS series, The Case of JonBenet Ramsey won’t just be phoning it in, but will provide the public with a glimpse into an ongoing investigation with top experts in their field. The JonBenet Ramsey case has kept the world’s attention not just because it was the murder of a child from a wealthy family, but also because the concept of child beauty pageants is still controversial, demonstrated by the popularity of the television show, Toddlers & Tiaras.

The CBS retelling of the murder of JonBenet Ramsey will show the public a life-sized replica of the Ramsey family’s Boulder home, which will show where the note was found, where JonBenet’s room was, and where the child’s body was found by her father, John Bennett Ramsey. Because the former investigators will meet on camera with new experts, the public will learn what has been reviewed, and what information can be examined going forward.

So, what is the best way to wade through all of the JonBenet Ramsey events this fall according to Bustle? The suggestion seems to indicate that the CBS version of events should include new information, as well as the three part series on ID. Also new should be the first time interview of Burke Ramsey, brother of JonBenet by Dr. Phil on daytime television starting on September 12th.
