Sam Heughan Admits To Falling In Love With Caitriona Balfe On The Set Of ‘Outlander’
Is Sam Heughan falling for Caitriona Balfe?
Fans have long speculated about a possible off-set romance between the Outlander stars. Now, reports indicate the Outlander hunk is starting to have feelings for his co-star while production for Season 3 is underway.
Game N Guide is reporting that Heughan is thrilled to start doing scenes with Balfe for the new season.
Heughan even expressed his excitement about working with Balfe on social media, sparking speculation about his feelings for the actress.
Although Heughan and Balfe have not confirmed any kind of romance outside of their work on the show, an insider revealed that the pair flirted with each other between takes.
“Sam and Caitriona were taking a short break between scenes when I saw them off to the side, holding hands and Sam was even whispering in her ear,” the insider shared. “She was laughing at whatever he said and well, they looked like an ordinary couple.
That being said, Heughan is allegedly dating an unnamed woman while Balfe is content being single.
Until the Outlander stars officially put to rest the rumors, fans will continue to speculate about Heughan’s true feelings for his on-screen wife.
Meanwhile, Ecumenical News is reporting that Heughan is excited about the coming season, but he is also worried about how Jamie’s relationship with Claire will change after their time apart.
“There’s a period of time where Jamie and Claire are apart; he thinks that he’s lost her, or at least that she’s alive and well but in the future, so what is he living for? What sort of man is he now?” Sam Heughan admitted.
According to MNR Daily, production for Season 3 of Outlander has already started at a vacant hospital in Scotland.
In fact, a recent photo of Heughan surfaced online that showed him getting ready at a makeup station.
It isn’t clear what scene Heughan was shooting, though many fans speculated that it may have been a behind the scenes photo from the Battle of Culloden in Season 2.
The new season of Outlander is based on Diana Gabaldon’s third book in the hit series, Voyager.
In the books, Jamie and Claire spend some 20 years away from each other before being reunited.
The series is expected to follow the same storyline, and MNR Daily is reporting that the time jump might happen right at the start of Season 3.
Not only will fans see an aged Jamie and Claire, but the couple will also travel far from Scotland throughout the season.
Their travels will take place on board a series of ships that will take the couple to far off and exotic locations.
At the same time, fans can expect a bunch of new characters to arrive next season, including Lord John Grey, Marsali, and Yi Tien Cho.
Unfortunately, producers have yet to make any official casting announcements, though they have already started to look for actors to fill the new parts.
While fans wait to find out more about the new season, construction on several filming locations has already started. This includes a brand new set at a print shop, where Jamie and Claire will have their highly anticipated reunion.
Production is expected to get in full swing in the coming months.
Season 3 of Outlander is expected to return to Starz sometime in early 2017.
