It’s pretty clear that Jinger Duggar’s father is going to play a much larger role on the upcoming season of Counting On than he did last season. However, it’s possible that TLC cut him from at least one Season 2 scene. According to a recent report, Jim Bob Duggar helped Jinger’s fiancé, Jeremy Vuolo, choose her 0.75-carat engagement ring. This moment was filmed for the Duggar family’s reality show and is featured in its latest promo, but Jim Bob is missing from the ring shopping scene.
In the August 29 print edition of Us Weekly , Jeremy talks about picking the perfect ring for his fiancee. According to the former soccer pro, who is now a preacher, he invited Jim Bob Duggar and future brother-in-law Ben Seewald to go ring shopping with him because he believes that the men know what’s best for Jinger.
“When I saw it, I immediately knew,” Jeremy said, according to the International Business Times . “It was important for me to bring Mr. Duggar and Ben to confirm what I felt was best for Jinger. It was a unanimous decision.”
However, in TLC’s most recent Counting On promo, Jeremy Vuolo doesn’t mention Jim Bob when he talks about choosing Jinger’s ring.
“Ben and I are going to look at some rings,” he says.
Jim Bob is also nowhere to be seen in the promo footage that shows Jeremy and Ben perusing a jewelry store.
There’s no word on why Jim Bob Duggar is missing from the ring scene. It’s possible that the camera crew purposely avoided showing him or that the scene was re-shot without Jim Bob after the threesome had already picked the ring. As the Inquisitr previously reported, scenes have been staged for the Duggars’ reality shows before.
Whatever the case may be, it’s clear that TLC doesn’t have an issue with Jim Bob appearing on Counting On . One scene in the promo shows the Duggar family patriarch eating a brownie while Jeremy asks him for permission to court Jinger. In another scene, Jim Bob chaperones one of Jinger and Jeremy’s dates and talks about how they are “still getting to know each other.”
Jinger’s father and her other family members will always get screentime on Counting On whenever she appears with Jeremy because the Duggars forbid their kids from being alone with their significant others.
“As far as our kids dating, we believe a lot of times if you’re alone with the person, it can create desires that can kind of get stirred up, and you don’t have any accountability, and [that] can kind of lead to some hanky panky,” Jim Bob explained on an episode of 19 Kids and Counting .
A few of Jinger Duggar’s family members were even present when Jeremy popped the question on July 25. After Jinger said yes to his proposal, which took place on a rooftop in NYC , she posed for an engagement photo with her new fiance and her mother .
Jinger Duggar might find it impossible to escape her family members right now, but things will change in the near future. The 22-year-old car flipper told Us Weekly that she’ll finally move out of her parents’ house in Tontitown, Arkansas when she marries Jeremy Vuolo. Jeremy preaches at a church in Laredo, Texas, and Jinger plans on helping her future husband with his ministry after she moves to the Lone Star State.
“I’m so excited to be joining my best friend,” Jinger said.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have taught their daughters that girls who don’t save themselves for marriage are like cups of spit , and the parents place so much emphasis on “purity” that their girls won’t even kiss their spouses until their wedding days. Because Jinger and Jeremy have to wait until they’re married for all the physical stuff, they don’t plan on their engagement being a long one.
“We’re thinking fast track is always better,” Jinger said of their wedding plans.
You can watch Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s relationship play out when Season 2 of Counting On premieres Tuesday, August 23, at 8 p.m. ET.
